What a find. This is a review for Rico Pan 1 and 2. Always go to 1 but electricity out so directed to # 2 and can see their cleanliness and food quality are on par. Found this tesoro near where we were staying and immediately loved them. Clean, friendly, and good at what they do, make food. Food service in PR is not fast which is okay...here on vacation. Budget in enough time if need to be somewhere. Go early, before 10, open at 5, if want full availability. It is not the cheapest, we tried cheaper bfast sandwiches to go elsewhere and will not make that mistake again. I am not a bfast sandwich person because I am particular about eggs(love-hate), but DAMN this one was good. Tried their egg, cheese, bacon on bread of their choice and it was delicious crispiness and flavor combination. PERFECT crunch and flavor combo. Their coffee is nitro goodness, I drink it black but too potent for me but my cream with coffee connoisseur husband loved it. Puerto Rico is a coffee mecca apparently. Hot chocolate delicious and farina and maizena too especially topped with delicious cinnamon(their cinnamon here hits). Love, love this place!
Have a chicken rotisserie spot onsite I hope to...
Read moreWas staying at the Hyatt Grande Reserve in Puerto Rico on vacation last August. The resort restaurants were either closed or blah so I took a stab at driving off the resort and finding some good cultural food. Found Rico Pan Bakery and was not disappointed in the least bit. The bread and breakfast sandwiches here are amazing. Everything tasted fresh and the wait was minimal. Reminded me of a Deli in NY with the locals stopping in before they headed to work. I actually ran into one gentleman who was from Brooklyn and we spoke for a few. Coffee there is strong just like I like it. The ladies behind the counter didn't speak English but my Spanish was good enough to get my order right and they were extremely helpful and polite. Definitely will return when I'm back in...
Read moreWe stopped on the way to El Yunque, we wanted something filling, quick, and easy on the stomach… so we weren’t looking for French toast or eggs Benedict. Breakfast here was quick, basic options (fresh thick toast, bacon or ham, oatmeal, eggs, etc.) that were all simple and tasty. Their coffee was delicious, strong and we ordered more before leaving. They also offer many different pastries, we bought 4 before leaving because they just looked so good. Service was friendly, dining room was full of locals, and there was a sense of pride in their food that made the place extra special. Breakfast was under $20. We bought bottles of water for our National Park hike. We would’ve bought sandwiches and chips to eat later in the park, if they were for sale. Anyway,...
