The new concept of this restaurant has only been open for ten days. We fortunately stumbled upon them accidentally and the smells from the grill convinced us to stay. It’s easy to overlook driving by, only met locals when we visited and has a small patio. All adding to the authentic experience. The local chefs are a lovely couple who are clearly passionate about the food they’re serving. Cooked over an open fire with local almond tree, guava and mango tree wood, trimmed from their own property. Nothing is fried. Homemade tamarind bbq sauce (from their own trees) is delicious, along with my favorite homemade spicy piña sauce. The chicken and ribs are luscious. The breadfruit escabeche is delicious. I can’t imagine anything is bad...
Read moreA MUST try spot!! My wife and I stopped here for a quick bite after hiking El Yunque, what we found was the best meal we had in Puerto Rico. This husband and wife duo running the new food stand is outstanding. Truly incredible technique with everything cooked outside on a charcoal grill. If I worked for Michelin, this would go on the guide, easy. The ribeye rivals the best steaks I've ever had in the States and the tacos were out of this world. I wish I could try The whole menu as The rabbit and stuffed quail sounded exceptional but we were so full. The chef sources everything from local farms and his technique is unmatched. I'm not joking. I feel like anything I can say is an understatement. Just try...

Everything was cooked to perfection with a subtle charcoal grill flavor and bold flavors. This was mainly a food trip for us and this was my favorite meal right next to Marmalade in San Juan. I also tried the rabbit stew (not pictured) which was also delicious. Prices weren't listed but I would give it one dollar sign - very affordable. The food tab and bar tab from El Oasis Amarillo are separate so I'm not even sure if this new spot is actually El Oasis Amarillo or...
