Response to Reply: I dont know where you got this idea that i was mean to the kid working. Ive worked customer service for 10 years, i wouldnt do that to someone in that position. I was asking about how the points were added. And i was remebering the other times id come. No where did i yell or be mean to anyone. And "extra cheese in exchange for the meat speaks for itself?? My sister doesn't eat meat. We used to come all the time when we lived a block away and she got the same sandwich every time. The only thing I was trying to say was the sandwich was half the size it used to be. And also adding, you've had your loyalty program since atleast July. That's almost 6 months. Adding a photo of when I joined your program.
I've been going to Lees's deli for over a decade. I've never been so disappointed. THE FOOD: I got the vegetarian, and back in the day they used to put extra cheese to make up for the lack of meat. Not anymore. A $10 (which is a mini) sandwich for a whole lot of nothing is crazy. Plus the sandwich wasnt even cut in half right. (There was no one else inside so whats the rush?)I pulled up the menu just from a year ago and the Regular is $2.20 more, okay, but the XL is 4.60 more. In a year?? The fries only went up a few cents but they went from a big square conatiner full for the "by the pound" when suddenly they're in the small rectangle. So same price but half the amount? THE SERVICE: I tried asking the kid at the register about how the points worked, since mine were low i just didn't know how the system worked. He didn't know. He's the same kid that checked me out 5 months ago, so he should know. The owner was walking behind the counter while I asking and he emphasized that I have to "put my number in" every time I pay to get points. Obviously. And then tried to emphasize how I have to "put the same number in every time". It just seemed extremely rude, like he was talking to me like I was stupid. I asked my sister, who was with me, and she also said he was being rude, I hadn't imagined the way he talked to me. It's one thing to raise prices, we all know about inflation, but to cut the food size to less AND be rude to your customers?...
Read moreI grew up in Kenosha and for me Hungry Head was the top echelon for local sandwiches. Since their last store's closure during the pandemic and my move to Racine, Lee's Deli has become a worthy successor to that crown. I usually order the same thing when I'm there - The Godfather - but they have other really tasty items. Their grilled ham and cheese, for it's simplicity, is super tasty. They have a macaroni tuna salad that I'll order every time I'm there as well. Perfect blend of sweet and savory. To top it all off, the service has always been very friendly and very accommodating.
This is an edit to my prior review and this is a positive edit. Earlier today I placed an order for two subs and a hot grilled cheese for pickup. When I got there, I noticed there was no discount for the daily special even though I ordered it through their website, not through Door Dash or GrubHub. While I waited to talk to the owner (they were quite busy), my grilled cheese got quite cold. Once I did get home, I saw an email from them refunding my purchase. Dammit, I love when a business does the right thing, and because of this, they will be getting so much more of my business (I don't look for refunds - I look for good service and they've...
Read moreWith the latest pricing increase, I cannot justify eating here anymore, the new owner has driven this place downwards and has lost sense of the community, the new owner even had the audacity to comment on this review and tell me that I paid DoorDash pricing when all our food was purchased at the counter. We bought two small subs and it came out to $44. and also, instead of correcting anything like the latest complaints on pricing, he would rather blame DoorDash and third-party ordering services when that just is not the case. These new owners will lie through their teeth in order to try to gain the trust in the community again, but I believe that has long gone. I also had to change this review and give them even more negative feedback after the owner had the audacity to comment on this. I would seriously suggest supporting a New small business that is willing to put the Customer first. There are plenty of other sub places. Note to the new owner stop blaming others for your greed and manage your...
