I'm not really sure where these positive reviews are coming from -- maybe college students with extremely low expectations. But this was possibly one of the worst pizzas I've ever been served. Maybe it's because I ordered in advance for pick up in about an hour and they were too lazy to make it fresh. So they made it at the time the order was placed and it sat under a heat lamp for an hour. That would explain why it tasted so gross and there was literally not a shred of cheese to be had on this pizza because it looks like it dried up into oblivion. But the pizza really shines in comparison to the lackluster service, if you can call it service, that I received from the unfriendly gentleman, who couldn't be bothered to remove his oversized headphones and engage in any normal service related conversation like a greeting and a thank you for coming and a have a Good night. What's worse is that I had walked all the way back to the hotel before actually tasting this pizza, which was so gross that I walked back to the restaurant to give it back to them, only to be greeted by doors that were locked even though they're not supposed to close for another 2 hours and the same gentleman who refused to even acknowledge me at the door. So I immediately reported this experience to their preferred online ordering system Slices who attempted to reach the restaurant 3 separate times. They too went unanswered. And when the manager was finally reached nearly 24 hours later they claim I never tried to bring the pizza back. I'd love to know how they even know this onsidering their staff is too consumed in their own headphones with 1 person working, who decides to close early to even care about their customers. And by the way, check your security cameras because...
Read moreMy very first visit, the young lady benid the counter was pleasent; had on gloves. However, what good are gloves if you leave them on, while on your phone and doing everything else? Though she was very pleasant. Through the door a young man pounces & bounces, in a tank-top, with his head leaning to the side and bounced straight into the food prep area, and did not wash his hands. While I'm waiting, he continues to bounce his hair. At one point, he leans over forcefully, flips back up, grabs his hair, and puts a band on it. A little later, he extis the kitchen enters a room which I presumed to be the bathroom and pops out quickly. He runs back to the kitchen, grabs the tongs, and proceeds to remove my pizza. I'm looking just to make sure he doesn't actually touch my food. Sorry for the cross-contamination for the next customer(s). At no point did I see him wash his hands or dawn on gloves. Lastly, the huge pizzas are over in the corner, exposed to air, and whatever else (his hair). They should be covered or put somewhere else where they aren't exposed to everything (like his hair). Last and lasty, I respect young workers, and I try to be amenable to current ideas. However, their are some tried and true realities that can not be adjusted. Especially regarding food preparation and those who do it. Whether you're a college worker at a pizza joint or in a restaurant; handwasing, covering your armpits, maybe even hair nets, in this case, are non-adjustables,...
Read moreGot slices which were somewhat disappointing based on the expectations I had and the hype. Seen the photo of one bite pizza review guy barstool sports in the location. I'm sure a whole pie would have been far superior just didn't have the time as we were on a long road trip and passing through. Location is cool and deco is nice. Kinda disappointing they don't have a fountain drink machine only Soda cans and no ice. For me a large fountain coke is part of the NY style cheese pizza experience. I always try the local NY style pizzas everywhere I travel to. I just expected more and the slice reheated like they do is just below average. When you get a slice as well pepperoni they just add it on and reheat it so it's not liked baked into the pizza which also hurts the taste I believe. The guy working was super nice and did a great job. This was like 1pm on a weekday in June so school was out and the place was dead.
I wouldn't get it again I would get the whole pizza freshly cooked. I have had an entire pie at the Waynesboro VA location and it's been a long time I remember thinking it was excellent. The super large size gimmick is also pretty cool and social media posting worthy. I really wanted to love it I just have to be honest here. I will however try...
