Macadoâs in Radford - Something Seriously Needs to Change
Iâve waited a few days to post this because I didnât want to come off as overreacting, but after thinking it through, I feel like people need to know whatâs really going on at Macadoâs. This wasnât our first bad experience there, but it will definitely be the last.
My fiancĂŠ and I, along with a couple other people went to Macados for dinner before the river turtles game. We got seated like normal, and at first, everything seemed fine. The waiter came over wearing gym shorts and a regular t-shirt, which felt a little off for a restaurant, but whatever. He brought our drinks, got one wrong, but we brushed it off.
Then he brought out our appetizer with the silverware and plates, and thatâs when things went downhill fast. Every single fork looked dirty, and one of them literally had dried chunks of food stuck to it. I mean actual leftover food! Two of the plates also had dried sauce and food still on them. It was disgusting. I couldnât even stomach my food after seeing that.
We called the waiter back to let him know, and he just stood there. He didnât say a word. Not âsorry,â not âIâll take care of it,â nothing. Just took the plates and silverware and walked off. No apology. No reaction. Nothing.
That honestly blew my mind. Itâs one thing to make a mistake, but to not even acknowledge it? To not say a single word when someone points out that you gave them dirty silverware with old food on it? Thatâs not just bad service, thatâs straight-up disrespectful.
And to make it worse, he didnât even bring us clean replacements. We had to call him back just to ask for new plates and forks. It also felt like it was 80 degrees in there, which just made everything more uncomfortable.
We shouldâve asked for a manager. I wish I had taken pictures. But in the moment, we were just too grossed out and shocked. Every time weâve gone to Macadoâs, itâs been something â but this time was the last straw.
We wonât be going back. And I really hope someone in charge sees this, because people deserve better than this when they go out to eat. Clean dishes and basic human decency shouldnât be too...
Read moreI experienced the worst customer service ever. The staff is incompetent and extremely unprofessional. I ordered dinner for takeout for a family graduation celebration 50 traditional bone in wings, two large fries, an order of shrimp & cheese sticks. I was in my car waiting for about 30 minutes, to be called when my order was ready, instead the cashier came out and told me they had no wings! She asked if I wanted boneless wings or a refund. I replied refund. She told me the manager was filling a large order and couldn't do it then and he said he would void the order when he got a chance. My reply was I needed a receipt as proof that he'd voided the order for $75.96 and I wasn't leaving without it. He had me waiting for another 30 minutes before he even came to talk to me. He made a weak apology and then attempted to print the receipt which for some reason wouldn't print, he said he could E-mail it to me. I replied unacceptable. This interaction began at 6:00pm, I finally left with a screen printed receipt at 8:30. I had to tell the manager that he should comp the shrimp that I'd just paid $8.81 for on top of the original check as my daughter wanted them, instead he put in another order for shrimp but obviously failed to tell anyone as when we asked about then we were told they'd already been given to me. I then explained what the manager had said, she went to the kitchen and came back with the shrimp. No one even offered me or my family a courtesy cup of water. I find it hard to believe that an establisment that specializes in wings that doesn't close until late would have run out of wings that early in the day. I personally believe that he used the wings that I'd ordered to fill that large order that he kept me waiting for. While I was waiting to speak with the manager a gentleman was irate that he'd been waiting for 15 minutes for someone to just bag up that was cold by the time someone did. No apology, no nothing. He just shook his head. Needless to say I'll never patronize this establishment again. Everyone there including the manager is very much in need of customer...
Read moreThe last 2 times i have visited, yesterday and today at the radford location , the service has been lackluster. Note, I have been in the service industry for over 20 yrs in all roles. Yesterday, the bartender was absent from the bar for extensive periods of time. Servers were standing idle and the bar had about 7 people at the bar and 3 2 tops that had been served food by the time I arrived. I ordered Mac and cheese, which was Luke warm and most of the cheese was not even melted. Clearly a microwave job! Whatever happened to the good Ole salamander. The couple next to me ordered food. The bartender forgot to ask what one member of party wanted before placing the order. Today I thought I would give it another shot... third bad experience as I had an issue at the Boone location 2 weeks prior. I arrived today at the bar. 4 customers were present at the bar with sufficient beverages. In addition there were 2 2 tops, one paying, and a 7 top. I waited 12 mins at the bar for the bartender to arrive. She stated she was so busy. Wow! This is problematic when the restaurant is that slow and she came from the kitchen. In addition, they had no white wine. It is mid week the liquor order should have been filled. In addition, the bar was sticky. The bartender was extremely rude. On my way out I swung by the hostess stand and waited 5 mins for a person to make a complaint to. Crickets. I even tried to call when I was waiting. Crickets. Mind you there were 5 other workers in the dining area idling around. If the bar was that busy, which if that is busy they will he out of business soon, why were servers standing around chatting with each other. Maybe they could clean abit OR assist the non busy bartender. They give you a ton of food but what should be hot is always cold of Luke warm. Quantity v. Quality... I'll...
