Flight Deck's the sort of place I want to stay quiet about only because it's such a wonderful hidden gem right now, and I don't want it to get overcrowded when more people realize how good it is. It's that incredible a bar and pinball space.
The rotation of local beers always has something I enjoy, and the bartenders are always friendly and attentive. By my second visit, I felt like a regular. It's a tiny but cozy space to sit around anywhere, relax, and enjoy a good drink.
This is also the best spot in the area for pinball. The pinball rooms behind the bar are loaded, with a variety of about 20 tables from different manufacturers and eras. Read moreFlight Deck is an absolute hidden gem. Not only does it have one of the best selections of local craft beer around, rotating taps, cold cans, and Jesse who is an excellent owner and bartender, but it’s also secretly one of the coolest pinball spots in town.
The vibe is laid-back and welcoming, with plenty of space to hang out and try local beer. They do local comedy shows, live music, trivia and more. But the real magic is in the back: a curated lineup of pinball machines ranging from the 1980s to brand new games. Every game is in excellent working condition thanks to a local group of dedicated players who own and maintain the machines. Older machines are just 50 cents, newer ones are a dollar.
If you're into craft beer, pinball, or just finding cool places off the beaten path, Flight Deck is 100% worth...

And best of all, ALL of the 20 or so pinball machines are well maintained and play as they were designed to play. As a 'pinball collective' the games are owned by individual who take care of them as if they owned them. (Again, they do.) There is a great mix of the newest machines as well as some old classics. And...the prices to play are reasonable! If you're looking for new favorite place in Raleigh to play pinball, check...
