Hibachi 88 — Restaurant in Raleigh

Updated Review: I gave this restaurant another try due to the convenience of the location and the quality of the food. As I stated in my previous review, the food is not bad and it's a good quantity for the price. On my last couple visits the customer service was definitely a lot better which leads me to believe that maybe I just caught them on some bad times before. There are a few new faces which I think has made the environment a little lighter and probably spread out the workload so everyone's not as uptight. It's a different vibe from when I visited previously and so I can applaud them for the improvement. They have also came out with these really cool packets for the white sauce and ginger. It eliminates the to go cups bursting in the bags and the hassle of having to fill them. They're really easy to open and it's a great idea!

My original post from January 2023: The food is decent but the customer service is trash. I've been here multiple times and will tell you firsthand: Please do not go here expecting to feel welcomed, to feel like a priority, or to feel like they care about your money. The black guy with the hat that works up front is very nonchalant acting and picks and chooses who he wants to put his best customer service on for. A woman took my order when I Ordered food 30 min before closing and was told it would be ready in 10 min. I was on the way and 12 min later I get a call from a man saying he was calling about an order we left . I said we ordered 10 min ago and I am on the way respectfully. The man said we close in 15 will you be here. He said this with an attitude. I said I am on the way. Arrive within minutes 1-2 and get to the front where I say I’m here for my order of hibachi chicken. The man looks at his watch and says wow ordering last minute ! I said this store is open until 10. There are 15 minutes left and he rolled his eyes. Completely rude and unacceptable service . Food was good but absolutely ridiculous behavior from the staff member !!!!!! Btw there were customers coming in after me . So I can only imagine he was as rude ! Seriously makes me consider never ordering here again since it was such an inconvenience to order before the restaurant ...

I wish I could give 0 stars but I'll give 1 since I have to. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and stopped here before going home. Upon walking in, the server looks up from the cash register and says "yo" signaling the customer infront of us to get his food. My wife went to the bathroom and said it was absolutely disgusting. We were waiting for our food and went over to get our silverware, which was in a dispenser so, with covid going on I don't like thinking people can touch and breathe on my silverware so, I opened the dispenser and took 2 of the top only touching what I was going to use. A gentleman approached me and yelled at me telling me not to do that and proceeded to get louder, I said don't talk to me like that and he said I'll talk to you how I want to.
