I feel sorry for his employees, but the manager here is beyond my imagination rude!!
He threw a tantrum because I waived with my hand over the counter too much (definitely I agreed with him). While I was telling the server what I need on my pizza he approached us out of nowhere shouting: Hey sir, do me a favor and keep your hands back!! We don’t want to contaminate our food!!! Wow!! Just wow! Yes, I should have kept my hands back, but the way he did this (even his employee got surprised by him showing up suddenly) is totally unnecessary.
Working in the retail business I know that if one of my employees approached anyone with that attitude, it would have had a long conversation in the office. It’s just wrong.
When I paid for all three pizzas (my wife, and daughter were with me) I gave my pizza back as I didn’t feel I wanted to eat it after the fact. Asked to talk to the guy whom I told my opinion, and he laughed saying that his approach was ok. 5min later he approached our table and handed me the money with the sarcastic comment: here is your money back sir! Well, I just paid you for three pizzas and took only two because of my daughter mostly (she loves MOD pizza), so the money was never the problem. We left the money on the table for him to enjoy in his day, but I know that I am never coming back here.
Yes, you will survive without us and weekly purchase of couple of pizzas, but out of the principle, we are not coming back.
These days, it’s more about the service you receive, in addition to the quality of food/product.
There are too many places to choose from and with even small things like this It will guide customers to determine where to go. With your way of doing business Mr. Manager your are just lucky for running a franchise that people usually like. Otherwise, you would be long time gone.
And reading the rest of the bad reviews here, they almost all had a one thing in common - the bad management! Not your employees. You should read those as eventually will catch...
Read moreSo there I was on Valentine's Day with my whole plan figured out. I was going to order my girlfriend, who is not super big into jewelry (how sweet is that?), or Valentine's Day for that matter, a pizza. Sounds simple, right? Well, it would have been simple if we were not hundreds of miles apart due to our temporary work situations. No big deal, I went online to MOD's website to place an order. Only problem is, the online orders were not working. Uh oh. So I got a little nervous but calmly fill out the Contact Us section of the website (which thankfully did work) explaining my situation. I described how I would be willing to pay for a gift card if online ordering did not work. I just knew I wanted my girl to have some good pizza. I really did not know whether I would get a response and if I am being honest with myself, did not really expect one.
Then, everything changed. Rather than getting some generic email, I got a phone call that changed my life. Okay, maybe not life-changing, but it DEFINITELY changed my Valentine's Day. Scott at MOD Pizza called me personally and made sure that my girlfriend would get her pizza. I don't know who this guy is, but the world could use more people like him. He was super responsive when I changed the pickup time at the last minute AND when I added more toppings to the order as well. I wish I could give this location six stars because the team took care of my order so well. And yes, the slight snag in this whole plan is that my girlfriend still had to pick up the pizza in person so it was not a total surprise, but everything worked out better than I could have imagined...
Read moreI’m a frequent at mod pizza for either lunch or dinner but today I had a rarely bad experience. When I walked up to give my order for two large, both with red sauce. The young lady making my pizzas reached up on the wall and grabbed one with sauce already spread on the dough which was drying and cracking. I thought she was joking so I chuckled. Then I realized she intended to use it for my pizza. I shared that I was accustomed to the dough being pre-made but had never experienced the sauce already on the dough. She said it had been applied in error for a previous customer and they didn’t want to waste the dough. I kindly requested fresh dough. She was very nice to honor my request; however, a young man, overhearing our conversation, walked over and replied, “it’s not that old”. When I continued with my request for dough that did not have sauce previously applied, he did not give me the dough from the shelf but used dough which had to be flattened in the machine. As he did so he mumbled barely loud enough for me to hear that “it didn’t make sense not to use the dough with the sauce already on it”, to which I did not respond. I suppose in retaliation, he left the sides of the dough rounded and not the customary flattened edges. We ended up with fat edges and toppings all piled in the middle. This is a first bad experience, otherwise, this Millbrook road location has had consistently good...
