Didn’t even make it to the complimentary water…
I was excited to learn there was a Salt & Lime closer to me than the one I normally frequent. After this experience, yet again, I’m disappointed to say I have to travel the distance to receive decent service. So sad.
I walked inside and was greeted by 5 young ladies. It took about 15 seconds for one of them to figure out where to seat me, despite the lack of patron presence. When I was seated, it was ahead of a couple. As I watched them take their seat, I observed a server greet them promptly, getting their drink order while I sat and waited to be greeted. Before I was acknowledged, the couple had received their drinks and were giving the food order, another family had been seated next to me. By this time, it had been 15 minutes AT LEAST. Ordinarily, I would have simply left; however, I was curious, so I waited. I was finally “greeted” by my server, but only as an after though to the family that took up residence beside me. They received their water before me, and the server acted confused as he counted his drink order, only then realizing the remaining waters were for my table. As he sat the water down, he stated he would be right back as he left to put away the drink carrier. When he return, he went to the neighboring table with the family who had arrived about 5 minutes after me, to take their order. This is when I left, but not before letting the front desk know about it.
The LEAST that could have been done is one of the many ladies at the front host stand could’ve taken the drink order. Likewise, the server could have acknowledged my table and said, “I’ll be right with you” as I understand things can get busy. There is no excuse to have a customer wait for 15 minutes to receive a complimentary glass of water…basic customer service/hospitality. It’s truly disappointing, because so many businesses miss out on monies all because they fail to demonstrate basic soft skills. I’m a firm believer that if the customer service is not up to par, the food won’t be either. That being said, this is the reason why I left without even ordering my food.
I hope this does not happen frequently, but I won’t risk a second chance - I’ll just stick with the...
Read moreWent there yesterday for my birthday dinner. Britta was our server. From the beginning every time she stopped at our table she acted like she was in a rush to walk away.
I gave benefit of the doubt.
First offense. We were never offer chips for our table.
Second and third offense was how many times they had to remake my mom’s food. She ordered shrimp and grits with no mushrooms and no green onion plus scallops.
The first time they brought it out with everything but green onions loaded with mushrooms.
The second time they brought it back out and it had just shrimp and scallops and nothing else. As if they just picked everything else off it.
Another server stopped over and retook the order and put it in for us. They finally got it right.
Fourth offense was my meal the mahi mahi was dry. When I told her she just looked at me and I said can you just bring me extra sauce.
She brought boxes for four people and never offered us a bag. We had to get on from the hostess on the way out.
Lastly, when she brought out the checks there was no acknowledgment of the fact that they got the meal wrong three times. We asked to speak with the manager at which point she took the checks and them came back and told us she comped that. After we asked. We didn’t expect to not pay but an apology would have been nice.
I will add that I have been to salt and lime several times before as my husband love this for a date night spot. Only once at this location, and the server was great! The service is usually exceptional and food is really good. So this experience may not be yours but...

We gave a second shot and what a major improvement from opening night. Awesome food, smiling faces. We'll be back!*
Walking in, great. Got a table, greeting. Waitress was sub par. She checked at all the wrong times, missing a silverware, asking for dessert still eating dinner, also for boxes when we're not done, asking if we're ready for the check when we're still eating, no drink refills, no offer of chips. Charging the $2 for the chips is to me a bit extreme considering prices are pretty competitive to other places. I get a chip fee if you're a bit cheaper on pricing, but come on. Wasn't enough chips to even last through the sampler dip app (no chips refilled either). Aside from not so impressive service, the margarita was great (standard house margarita on the rocks). The inside is so loud that people have trouble hearing anything. Our order for kids was heard as "Mac and cheese" when we ordered "cheese quesadilla". The person dropping food also didn't hear when she asked if we needed anything and we said one more silverware. It's just too loud. My husband got the fajitas but not enough tortillas for it. I got the fish tacos and I didn't see/taste any tarter sauce and it needed it- not enough salt or flavor on the fish. Overall, not impressed. Edit I discovered this was a grand opening week I went and I will intend to go back for another shot in the near future to see if things have smoothed out. Management was very good so I think it's worth a...
