I was very (okay, extremely) nervous when I arrived for the shoot. Megan did a wonderful job with my hair and makeup. She asks many questions so she makes sure your look fits you just right.
When I arrived, they showed me how to organize my things and then went through everything with me. My advice? Definitely bring extra clothes, shoes and jewelry. Your ideas and their ideas will work well together to give you wonderful photos.
Summer did most of my photo shoot. She made sure I felt relaxed and calm throughout. She told me which outfit (of my 3) to dress in before we began each part. Direction included clothing, shoes and jewelry. Fabulous help! I didn't know what to do, she did. Phenomenal!
During the shoot itself, the photographers actually model the poses they want. Instead of saying "okay, stand over there and throw your arm toward the west with your leg to the southeast and move your chin toward the northwestern corner of the axis of Mars in retrograde….. blah blah blah" No. They walk to your prop, say "do this" and then show you what they want. Completely idiot-proof. I LOVED that. Because I'm FAR from model material.
I loved the help we received when it was time to choose the photos as well. It is so helpful that the pricing is right on the website. There is no "sticker shock" involved whatsoever. Everyone is pleasant, friendly, and really cares that you are happy with every single part of your experience.
The only critique I would have would be: The second part of my shoot was done by Dan. I was surprised by this, only because I wasn't forewarned. I understood the rationale and he was superb at making me feel completely at ease. I just think it could have been explained a little better right at the beginning, during the tour. As I said in the beginning, I was extremely nervous that day. I think this is part of the reason I critique this. I am also a healthcare worker and understand that sometimes nervous people want more...
Read moreI just had my first ever boudoir photo shoot at Revolution Studios, and like most (all?) of the reviews here, I had a fantastic experience.
I scheduled my appt. using a Groupon and went ahead and added the makeup since I wouldn't know how to do it for photos. I'm really glad I did, because I got to chat with Somer during and that helped me to relax (work was stressful that day). I'm also glad because Somer gave my the false eyelashes and they were hot! The makeup looked very "natural" (and sexy) which she said was the most requested look.
I was quite nervous about being seen, since I am nowhere close to "perfect" in the body department. I was worried that I would feel "judged" since I imagine everyone else looks better than me, but that did not happen. I trusted the professionals to make me look my best. I wasn't disappointed. I had a great time, and once I got past the giggles we got some great shots!
I really like how the photo shoot itself is not that expensive. I figured that if I didn't like the photos, then I didn't spend that much. I had hoped there would be enough to get an album, since this is a gift for my husband. It turns out that there were so many fabulous photos that I ended up with extra pages in my album and I purchase all of the digital pics from my shoot. It was expensive (I'm not sure how much they are typically) but I figured this would count for an entire year's worth of gifts, so what the heck!
If you are at all on the fence about doing a boudoir shoot, get off and get over the Revolution Studios. They are adept and making you feel awesome and finding the best angles to make you look awesome. There were a few photos that I didn't like, but the majority were really sexy.
I only posted this as "anonymous" since the Hub's friends are my friends with my on G+ and I wanted to keep this private - especially since this is a surprise...
Read moreMy day at Revolution Studios was a dream come true. The makeup was beautiful, I did the boudoir photo-shoot, and it wasn't awkward or uncomfortable at all. My photographer knew what she was doing and all of my photos turned out amazing, except for a few normal issues like you could see the makeup filling my pores, I had a few veins popping out and stuff like that. Because I loved so many photos, I bought a package that came with a 20 page book and a cd with all "finished" photos for me to be able to print them myself. When I received the book, I was in love. Then I received my cd. The CD I received, had two folders: edited, and photos. The edited folder had all of my photos from the book and were gorgeous. The "photos" folder had all of the original photos from the photo shoot. These photos still had my cakey makeup, and my veins popping out, it was very clear they had not been touched up. When I called the studio to ask if this was normal, I was told it would be $10 a photo to do touch up. After spending the amount of money I had spent, I was extremely upset to find out I had 100 photos that I would not want to ever print because the flaws on my face and body. I tried to see if I could get this issue resolved and was told it would be worked and never received a call back. I feel like I've been stolen from and had I known the photos wouldn't even be touched up, I wouldn't have bought the expensive package I did, because now I have a lot of photos that I don't want even my boyfriend to see because the giant veins in my forehead. Anyway, I loved the service on my day here, but be careful when you're buying your prints because you need to know what you are or are...
