The food never disappoints! I started going there many years ago every chance I could. Today we went for my daughter's birthday. This is one of her places on her list of favorites. My eggplant in garlic sauce is so good. My husband said his sweet and sour chicken is the best he's ever had! My mom could not stop raving about how good her general toes, was! They serve the best Chinese food I had yet in Raleigh! And the lunch specials are a good variety with the perfect combos and reasonably priced. BUT.....Sorry to say our server was mediocre at best. She didn't wipe the entire table when we were seated and the table had something on it. She only wiped that spot.... we used our own wipes to clean the table, sorry to say it was not clean. Our server continually reached over our plates while we were eating, instead of walking around to the person she was serving. The noodles for our soup were stale. I took them to the bar because, my server was not around. When she appeared I told her our noodles were stale, she snapped back that's all I have.... instead of saying, I'm sorry, let me see what I can do... Fortunately for us, the person behind the bar had enough sense to make some fresh noodles, instead of blowing off, we were served stale food. She just came across as if we were bother to her. Mind you, the restaurant was not busy. We really love Spring Roll. We were disappointed they closed their North Hill location, but we followed them to the Wade Ave. area. However, if they continue to allow their server to wait on people so sloppy, they'll lose their following.

We were a table of four. At the beginning, we were warmly welcomed with water served in glass cups, but from then on everything went downhill. When placing our order, we mentioned that we had only one hour to eat, and we were told that would not be a problem. We ordered one soup, two sushi rolls, and one noodle dish. Drinks were brought to us in plastic cups, while other guests were being served in glassware. The dishes came out at three different times, with about a 20-minute gap between the soup and the sushi rolls, which forced each of us to eat separately. When the soup arrived first, no spoon was provided until 10 minutes later—by which time the soup was already cold. Soy sauce was given in small plastic packets that had to be emptied into another plastic container. In the end, after one hour, one dish (the noodles) was still missing. Unfortunately, we had to leave, so we didn’t paid for the dish since we were unable to eat it. The flavor of the food was about 5/10 ( in the photos you can see how much salmon was in ours sushi) , but the biggest issue was that the dishes were served separately, with poor timing, making it impossible for us to enjoy our meal calmly and together. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. I do not recommend it.

This place was crawling with employees but few guests when I arrived around 1:30 for lunch on a weekday. I sat at the sushi bar, alone, and was not able to get custom sushi. I wanted any roll with Avocado Cucumber & Carrot. Nope. No custom sushi🤪. I even felt like the sushi chef WANTED to make me sushi. I didn’t like anything offered in their list so I am a pain, I know that, I instructed the server they could charge me $14 for the custom sushi and I would work it out with the sushi chef. Nope. So I spent less and got a rice dish that came with a salad and the portion in the tofu dish was generous. I like going to a “sushi place” after the lunch rush, where I have a sushi chef somewhat to myself and eating while I work, & I like to know my chef if possible. . . . This is more of a quick spot than a nice sushi restaurant that wants your experience to be amazing; it just doesn’t have that warmth You might expect. My server Beth was sweet and kind, the staff was kind, including the sushi chef, and the host/napkin folder. Super chill and nice background music and sports on the 3 flat screens.

Lets start with the positive: The location, the ambience, and the sushi. This newest edition of Spring Roll is conveniently located right behind the PNC arena right on the Cary/Raleigh border. The interior of the restaurant has been beautifully decorated with simple but unique Asian influences. Love the chandeliers! The sushi chefs are doing a good job consistently churning out delectable plates of sushi. The ingredients are fresh and the portions are fair. Point being..if you appreciate decent sushi you wont be disappointed by the chefs preparations. However, I must say I am quite shocked and disappointed that ginger and wasabi were nowhere to be found with our 4 different sushi rolls. That is a major faux pas in the world of sushi. We immediately asked our server for some but unfortunately it never showed up. Which brings me to the negative: the service. !ATTENTION SPRING ROLL OWNER! You can have the best food in the world, but the service is what makes a diners experience complete. Without good service to back up the food, I assure you that people will think twice about returning. When we first walked in there were about 10 people waiting to be seated and no hostess around. After a few minutes she appeared from the kitchen and hastily attempted to seat each of us. Unfortunately, another 10-15 minutes passed before a server approached us. Thankfully, we already knew what we wanted so we went ahead and placed our order. Food arrived in a reasonable amount of time and as mentioned previously was delish (minus the missing wasabi/ginger)! We really could have used at least one refill with our drinks but seemed to busy to get around to us again before asking for the cheque. Overall it was a 3 star experience that with some easy changes could turn into a...

I can confidently say that we have never had worse service in our entire life. The servers were not attentive at all, leaving us for extremely long periods without any water, and without our drinks from the bar. Someone in our party got up and went and got them from the bar herself after it had been about 35 minutes - the drinks were warm and watered down from sitting for so long and when the hostess checked in on us feeling bad she never offered to remake anything.

They then began to "rush" our food out because they felt awkward with how long it had been but even then it was so sporadic. (A table near us canceled their order and left because they saw what was happening at our table and others for wait times)

When we went to pay our bills they didn't have our checks in order so we just split it equally between everyone and left but even though the service was horrendous they never gave a discount and we found out afterward they tagged a 18% gratuity onto our bill..

I don't normally leave reviews and I truly don't want to ruin someone's establishment. But I also felt strongly that considering they never even offered to help make it right or showed any compassion they need feedback so they can figure out their server/hostess culture problem. I hope not that this tragically hurts them but hurts them in a kind way where they can have some honest feedback and do the necessary things to grow and make sure this doesn't happen again.

Worth noting the atmosphere is nice and the food was good. It was just hands down one of the worst (if not the worst) service experiences we've ever had and I assure you we're really not that...
