L&L Hawaiian Barbecue — Restaurant in Ramona

I ordered the mini ribs, i got 2 ribs, the one with all the fat was at the bottom. I ordered 2, one for me and mom. Mom’s was the same way. Interesting how you hide the fat. The macaroni salad I ordered an extra side order. It was extremely salty. I won’t be ordering from there again. Shame on you for deception. I bate that. Update I ordered for the first time on 2/5 from door dash and on they tried to run my card again without an order. What a scam. I deleted the app and luckily I had my card replaced before the attempted charge.

Update To the owner. You better check your staff. I used the app one time at your restaurant . When Inuse these apps, I use the limited credit card gift card. Thank God. Someone there tried to charge the same order again for $20.99, declined. Since then, 3 more attempts came in for $9.99. Shame on your shady business. Disgusting. Yuck. I won’t be back and I’m the least pickest person when it comes to food and I NEVER write reviews … but others should know before they waste their money like I did.

I went to order the Hawaiian BBQ plate (one of the first items on the menu) and was told that it is only available on Fridays. Okay… The menu did not disclose this and it was not obvious. Plus it is like the most popular item at a place like this.

So - I asked for something similar. It was a pulled pork cabbage plate w/ 2 scoops of rice and Mac salad. The pork was cold, gray and tasteless (no seasoning, watery, etc.). I couldn’t even finish it - I ended up giving it to my dogs and actually felt bad for them. I paid $13.99 + tax. for dog food.

My husband got a bowl and similar case. Soggy veggies, cold meat and did not get the extra pineapple he requested and paid for.

We both ended up throwing it away. Food was terrible and the order and cleanliness of the restaurant was on the decline. This place...

I love L&L. I have even eaten at a location in Maui and on the Big Island. Unfortunately the Ramona location is having some major hiccups. I generally eat there once a week. So far my order has been wrong twice. Most recently Monday 10/18 the macaroni salad tasted like soap. Either using the wrong ingredients or using containers that previously contained a soap/cleaning product. It ruined the entire plate. This was the second time I had noticed it only this time it was inedible. Another thing that should be addressed is this a “Hawaiian” type eatery. You can’t hear the Hawaiian influenced music in the dining area over the Mexican music being so loud in the kitchen.
