I recently had the pleasure of dining at Indian Spice Restaurant in Rancho Cordova, and I must say it was a culinary experience like no other. Nestled in the heart of Sacramento, this Nepalese gem stands out as one of the finest establishments in the area. From their extensive menu to their vegetarian-friendly options, Indian Spice Restaurant has it all.
The moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The menu offered a wide variety of choices, but as a vegetarian, I was particularly thrilled by their emphasis on catering to different dietary preferences. After some contemplation, I decided to try their mixed vegetable curry with Garlic naan, and it was an absolute delight.
The mixed veg curry was a testament to the culinary mastery of the chefs at Indian Spice. The fresh vegetables were bursting with flavor, and each bite was a delightful explosion of taste. The spicing was impeccable, striking a perfect balance that left me wanting more. It was evident that they take great care in selecting the freshest ingredients, resulting in a dish that was both vibrant and satisfying.
Accompanying the curry was the Garlic naan, which was a true revelation. Freshly prepared, it arrived at our table warm and aromatic. The unmistakable taste of garlic permeated each bite, complementing the softness of the bread perfectly. It was a match made in culinary heaven and served as an excellent accompaniment to the curry.
Beyond the exceptional food, I was equally impressed by the swift and friendly service. The staff at Indian Spice Restaurant were attentive and accommodating, ensuring that our dining experience was nothing short of extraordinary. In particular, I was moved to learn about the owner, Amrit, and his contributions to the community. His generosity during the challenging times of the pandemic, donating food to United Sikhs to aid the homeless, truly reflects the kind and compassionate nature of this establishment.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Indian Spice Restaurant to anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience. With its wide selection of delectable dishes, including an extensive vegetarian menu, it caters to all tastes. The flavors will transport you to the vibrant streets of Nepal, while the warm and friendly atmosphere will make you feel right at home. By supporting this remarkable local business, you not only treat yourself to a gastronomic adventure but also contribute to the community. Indian Spice Restaurant is a true gem that deserves every bit of recognition it receives.

Read moreMy girlfriend and I decided to have a date night here at Indian Spice, and were severely disappointed. When we entered the building, there was almost nobody there. We ended up being the third table in the entire restaurant at 5:30, which is usually a busier time for businesses catering for dinner. I don't point that out to say that it's a sign that it's bad, but I do point it out because it took forty five minutes to get our food. We ordered the Chicken Tandoori special and the garlic chicken kabob, both of which came with naan bread and tikka masala sauce. We also ordered a bowl of rice to share between the two of us. I was particularly excited about the sauce myself, and was looking forward to the pairing with the tandoori chicken. I do realize that this food takes longer to make, but I was willing to wait for some decent food. When the food came out, however, I learned something: time does not equal quality. The chicken kabob was incredibly bland, and tasted like it was just a plain grilled chicken. The Tandoori chicken was no better. The rice was dry, fell apart, and honestly tasted like Minute Rice. Immediately when the food was brought to us, I was confused. Nowhere on our plates was the tikka masala sauce. I asked a waitress about the overlook, and she stated that we had to ask for the sauce beforehand. I was shocked. The menu specifically states that it comes with it, and nowhere does it say that you would have to ask for it. She then bustled off, and wasn't seen for the rest of the night. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't good. It was something that tasted like I could've made it myself with a couple chicken breasts and an oven, with nothing else. The vegetables tasted like plain vegetables. The chicken tasted like plain chicken. The rice tasted like plain rice. Nothing had flavor, nothing had the richness that is usually associated with Indian food. It was a forty five minute wait for a plain meal that cost us over $30.00. Overall, I can say confidently that we will not be going there again. I found the food disappointing, the customer service to be sparse, and the general feel of the place to be...
Read moreI went here today for the first time, it smelled amazing! Yes the decor is a little old and looks dated but you don’t always get the best tasting food just because a place is pretty. Yes the food came a little slow, even though I was hungry I could appreciate that. It tasted fresh. My samosas came first, perfectly fried and piping hot, the chutney was THE best I ever had! It was so good it was like something I could add to noodles and make a separate meal. I picked my main entree based on the picture and description, what I got looked different but it was still very tasty. I ordered the chili chicken. The naan was amazing!! Freshly cooked, puffy, crispy, light crunch when I bit into it. I ordered Tandoori chicken to go, the menu said it came with rice and naan but when I got home and checked it was just the chicken with a bed of onions and peppers. Not happy it didn’t come as the menu stated but it was very good, nice flavor. My only suggestion would be to cook the chicken a little longer because some pieces were slightly undercooked. Not the end of the world for me and nothing the air fryer couldn’t fix. I will go back again with my husband and I already mentioned this place to my coworker who is in the area a lot. It wasn’t busy inside during lunch time but it did look like people were probably doing Door Dash or some type of takeout service. There wasn’t someone at the front desk when I walked in but the door had a bell or something to let them know they had customers and someone did approach and immediately seated me. I did not have an issue with the bathroom, it was clean. If you’re looking for some fancy, up-to-date, sit down restaurant, at first glance, this is not the place for you. If you can look past the fact that it is an older establishment, needing upgrades, as many places do and you are looking for good food this place will...
