Unfortunately, I will not be returning. (Lack of Customer Service By Owner & Servers & Unsanitary to provide touched food to other customers)
My experience at "The Big Dog" resulted in a terrible experience. I drove an hour to come to this location that was recommended by friends. Wednesdays they have a deal of 0.10 Wings which I absolutely think is a wonderful deal. I completely understand how busy this type of deal could result in but it is how the situation was handled which resulted in the lost of not only my business but others as well. When I arrived at this business I was advised it would be a two hour wait for wings. I specifically asked the bartender who was taking the orders what would not take that long & per his advisement I ordered Fries & an appetizer. Unfortunately, I did not receive my food items until 9:30PM & ordered at 7:00 PM. (Please note: A Friend who arrived & placed his order 30+ Mins After I Did Received Wings 20-30 mins prior that I did for Fries & an app)
I expressed my frustration & the owner came over to my table to an automatic attitude asking "What was my problem". As a former business owner & someone who has been in management Customer Service is everything. I was not yelling/ I was not upset / I simply expressed my frustration regarding the situation & the owner was very argumentative.
We found out that a separate customers (10 Piece Wing Order) was added to our ticket which is why it took 2 hours & 45 mins for our Fries & App to be provided. This customer Paid Separate / Ordered Separate & the Owner advised me that this is "Common" for orders to be put in together, It absolutely did not make any sense in any which way shape or form for a separate customers wing order to be placed under my ticket especially when I purposely ordered food other than wings to avoid this situation.
I completely understand mistakes & the result of the busy evening due to the wing discount but the reason I will not be returning was due to the fact the owner was rude, & argued the entire time with me , did not apologize, she seemed to have cared less about the situation & acted like I was such a bother that she had to come find out what my problem was. Once receiving my food she ripped the food out of my hands while I went to throw it away because by this time I had to leave to head home,
AFTER I TOUCHED THE FOOD she proceeded to provide it to other customers for free AFTER I TOUCHED IT WITH MY HANDS.
Customer Service Is Key & will make or break a business over time. All I wanted was to be heard regarding the situation & for it to be acknowledged for future examples to avoid this type of situation occurring. Unfortunately, talking to the owner is what resulted in my decision to not be returning to this location.
AGAIN. The response from the owner is very argumentative instead of taking the high road for their mistake. The separate customer/friend DID NOT ADD TO OUR ORDER/ THEY ORDERED & PAID SEPARATE, THIS ACTION WAS TAKEN UPON YOUR STAFF TO ADD TO OUR ORDER WHICH WAS SEPARATE!
YOU TOOK FOOD OUT OF MY HANDS THAT I 100% WAS GOING TO THROW AWAY IN THE TRASH CAN BEHIND ME! I DO NOT NEED TO SNEAK FOOD OUT OF YOUR BUSINESS! THEY WERE TAKEN FROM MY HANDS AS I WENT TO TURN TO THROW THEM AWAY AFTER I TOUCHED THEM AND THEY WERE COLD! THEY WERE THEN GIVEN TO A CUSTOMER! ( REPORTING TO BBB)
OWNER IS CHILDISH TO ARGUE & CONTINUE TO ARGUE WHEN THEY WERE IN THE WRONG! I NEVER ONCE BROUGHT MONEY INTO THE CONVERSATION & YOU ARE TAKING SOMETHING THAT SOMEONE ELSE SAID AND USING IT TO "ARGUE"! UNPROFESSIONAL!)

Learned that the drink I was interested in can only be ordered at the outdoor bar. Then they were out of something we wanted to order, so it was back to the tables to read the menu again. Then when you go up to order, it's at the back of the line to wait again. It took a few trips up to the bar to place our order, one item at a time. This burnt (see photo) thin no-way-it's-a-half-pound burger arrived 20 mins after the other burger we ordered came out which was twice the size. So the kitchen isn't cooking tickets in order either, because the second burger we ordered came out ahead of the other one. I couldn't get anyone's attention to even have it taken off our check and possibly get some other food. We arrived starving, and an hour and a half later were still hungry. At least my dining companion got her food. I am so angry. We managed to win the trivia game we were here for, how I don't know because I was going to to the bar between every question trying to order something or get a drink refill. Took four tries to accomplish getting a Coke. Many more tries trying to find out where my food was. It's a sorry night when you leave hungry after trying hard to get food. Update: I appreciate the Ownership's response, it shows they are paying attention. You need to hire more or better people, including servers. When clientele is at your business to participate in an organized event where they must pay attention to succeed, it doesn't make sense to have no servers. The trivia-playing crowd is people you WANT to have there. A dependable weekly crowd with a fair amount of intelligence, that have built-in loyalty because you're the only location around on a Saturday night. They bring friends, spend money, and tip well. I actually waited to post my review because I was so angry, and it would have been full of profanity and ranting. Getting a burger and a beer should be something easy to do, not something I couldn't accomplish it in the two hours I was there. Side note: the featured cocktails sounded great, but to say they could only make a Blueberry Mule outside because that's where the ginger beer is...is ridiculous. Carry a few bottles inside. However, last night my guest that are from out of town that I invited to the bar for the first time, was racially profiled. Not only were they denied service, but they were immediately and rudely put out the bar because they left their IDs in the car. I spent about 1.5 hours in the bar buying drinks while waiting for them. Then had to abruptly leave because the bartender clearly felt a threat. I say we were racially profiled because from the time I sat in the bar, I watched a group of white party goers request drinks and some didnāt have ID. The same bartender said they had to leave BUT offered to find the owner to see if they could just stay in the bar. After a little wait, the bartender came back saying the owner said it was fine that they stayed. Not only were they allowed to stay, this same bartender provided them alcohol without all of them being/having ID. Why wasnāt my company granted the same treatment? Why was she so Adamant about pushing and rushing us out? After I sat and spent money at that? One of my guest accidentally went out the patio doors instead of the exits because heās never been there before and the bartender proceeds to keep telling us to leave. I politely said weāre leaving and she rudely replied ābut he went on the patio!ā I nor my guest werenāt rude one time. They didnāt even speak to her. They literally didnāt even have a chance to have a seat at the bar from walking in the door. As soon as they stepped in they were turned away immediately and did so without a fight because we all know how whites have the upper hand especially in a city like Ravenna. Iām sickened by this type of behavior. Our money is just as good as anyone else. Not every black man wearing all black with dreads is out to harm people. And please understand, just because you see black faces doesnāt mean you automatically have to start playing rap music. This happens every time we come in. My guest were so upset and I was too.
