Family Garden — Restaurant in Reading

I have been eating here since they opened years ago in East Reading. The food is always great and I've never experienced anything like "mystery meat" or "bad smells" like another reviewer has posted. The combination platters are ALWAYS overstuffed with food, our food is always fresh and even though delivery does take some time our food is always HOT when it reaches us. The same guy has been delivering our food for years and I swear that man is always smiling! I know a big complaint is long wait time for pickup and delivery, but that is because they are always so busy and if that doesn't tell you that the food is good, I don't know what will! Also, some food at other Chinese restaurants gives me a major headache almost immediately (msg?) Family Garden is one of the ONLY places in the area that I do not suffer a terrible headache after...

my experience was terrible, I ordered food for my girlfriend at 10 o'clock, I ordered pork fried rice and Bourbon chicken, I when I open my bag I realized she got white rice instead. I called back to tell them my problem and the lady said that the driver will bring my food. I waited and waited and waited. No one came so I called back and the lady then told me that the driver left and he forgot to bring my food, I waited and waited some more and I called again this time no one picked up, The last call I made was in at 11:50 and I believe they close at 12. And when we realized that we weren't going to get what we ordered and both her and I were frustrated....

Absolutely horrible. Worst Chinese store EVER. The owner has no customer service. They made me a cheesesteak roll last year with orange cheese. The rolls are all onions barely any meat. I ordered white rice and chicken and broccoli and they sent me pork fried rice and I am Muslim. They came back to deliver my replacement and sent me general tsos chicken and white rice and not what I had ordered. They have horrible customer service then the lady banned me from ordering because they brought me chicken wings one time and they tasted weird.
