Place itself is nice and the food used to be good, but ever since they fired their old chef the food has been nothing but terrible and overpriced, paid $13 for one of the worst burgers I've ever had, they charge diner prices but give fast food quality (sometimes worse) even the drinks are overpriced $3 for one soda is ridiculous. Do not come here and spend money go anywhere else, the food is no longer good all 5 star reviews are for the old franklyn's not current
The only thing that's still good are the milkshakes but they're also overpriced $8 for what would be a $5 small milkshake anywhere else
Edit/response: I ate there same day I left the review and have been there multiple times, you guys literally know who I am just look at my profile but ok lol and yes I did over exagerate the prices a little but 1 bottle soda was like $3 so still overpriced and the milkshakes are like $7.49 or something so saying $8 isn't far fetched also the "old chef" I'm talking about was an older lady who I haven't seen working there in a while, the burger I had was made by Franklyn I know that I watched him make it and it was horrible tasted like nothing but grease and my friend who also had one said the same also all reviews I leave are real which is why I said your store is still a nice place despite the lack of good food. (Your steak French fries aren't bad though)
Also you close way too early...

We were greeted by owner Franklyn’s enthusiastic personality and charm. The rest of the staff was equally welcoming.
We started with a pecan milkshake since that was the flavor readily available. It lived up to the hype and was incredibly delicious.
For food, I had the fried chicken with macaroni and cheese and broccoli while my girlfriend had the shrimp po’ boy. Each dish left a little to be desired but the chef asked us for feedback and explained that he had recently been given feedback that the fried chicken was over-seasoned which baffled me. So I must have gotten an over-adjustment recipe. The po’ boy tasted a bit overcooked as well. Additionally, we were given garlic bread and side salads to start. We declined a complimentary appetizer as the amount of food was too much to stomach.
All in all it was a decent experience. If I ever return to Reading, I’d give the burger a try to accompany the...
