I never write reviews, but I think I was too hungry for a mess up today... I have worked locally in Whitehouse for a decade. I use to occasionally visit in my Merck days, and now work in a small business very close to Jerry's. Most of the office does NOT frequent their, for various reasons. However, today we ordered for the office. My dish was a Grilled Shrimp Caesar which is how it reads on the menu (add tomatoe/onion). I have ONLY ever ordered a grilled shrimp Caesar from there for 10 years, same way. Well today, it came with breaded shrimp, and apparently said that's the way it comes. Umm, no it doesn't, check the menu. I didn't want breading over salad, I wanted shrimp. The dressing is not enough for the mountain of lettuce they provide, so half of my salad was left completely dry and hit the garbage. Also, lose the taco shell. It is completely pointless, just gets soggy at the end, and no ones eats it. Oh and they forgot the tomatoes. Which I could've lived without if I had grilled shrimp and enough dressing. I almost forgot... there were many grumbles about orders from my co-workers, which I will not itemize here. However, they did forget at least a few orders of fries, so 6 people were divvying up the few fries that came....
Read moreVery busy late Sunday morning. This is a combo dine-in deli / market with both inside and outside seating. Also seemed very busy for take out orders at the same time, with no separate area for pick-up. Food was good. Coffee very hot. Staff was nice, but no one person in charge of flow, considering their volume. Definitely seemed staff was overwhelmed. Seating was tight and confusing. We were offered seats that were already taken. (Both members of the other party were up getting beverages at the time we were offered seating.) Then two other staff directed us to two other places to sit. Thought the self serve coffee and beverage refrigerator area was for the to-go orders only. A little table sign would have been helpful to direct us. Waited quite a while to order, which could have at least been ameliorated by getting our coffee, then a long wait for food, then longer wait for the bill. Lots of steps/stairs, so not wheelchair /mobility limited accessible. Bathroom on the second level, very tight getting past tables and chairs to get to restrooms. They do take credit cards, but charge you a non-disclosed service fee. They also do not present subtotal amount pre-tax on...
Read moreWe really enjoy this little quasi-diner. It's a breakfast/lunch place (they also do catering and their platters are incredible). You can get traditional breakfast fare, some fancy twists on those (like frittatas and croissant-based French toast) as well as burgers and paninis. My favorite, though, is the wraps. So many varieties, and all so good. From portabello mushroom to sloppy turkey, everything is tasty and very fresh. Definitely take the time to stop here for a very satisfying meal. (Plus, you do get a little taste of Brooklyn in the decor...
