Tado - The Worst Restaurant Food I have ever had with a bill for $277.00!
This restaurant once had a good reputation with regard to food, service and nice quiet atmosphere. Don't bother!!!!!! We ate there this past week and it was the worst food I can ever remember eating, with a total bill of $277.00 for two before the tip. The menu prices were not current and it was very limited. Crabcake appetizers were very good; the walleye bites were bland and were 4 and 5 inch pieces, hardly bites. Wedge salad - watered down salad dressing, about 3 or 4 tablespoons on the side of blue cheese and bacon - over kill, and mushy cherry tomatoes. Partner ordered a ribeye - medium rare - it was absolutely 100% rare, quite fatty and the price was marked $50 and it was $70 on the final bill. I ordered a $38 filet and on the final bill it was $50. Two lobster tails for $75. I ordered the Filet Oscar for my steak. OMG! It was bright yellow and there were 6 tablespoons of sauce on the steak with about a tablespoon of crab meat. HOWEVER, the kicker is it was LEMON Flavored and it was so overpowering you could taste nothing but lemon. It had congealed on the plate and was absolutely disgusting! The food was cold, making it worse. To say the asparagus was mealy and over cooked would be an understatement. Our Server asked about it and I told her I've never had Lemon Flavored Oscar and that it was terrible. Her response - oh, we have food critic. She asked and I answered, and not rudely. The only three edible items were the crabcakes, lobster and mashed potatoes. They should just shut this restaurant down and begin again. Recently this restaurant has been hit or miss at best, but $277.00 for food which was absolutely disgusting is too much to ask. We did leave the server a great tip even though this was this worst restaurant food I really have encountered. I would have rather eaten Culver's. Don't waste your time or money on this place!!!! You will be more than...
Read moreMy wife and I had another absolutely fabulous dinner last night at Tado Steakhouse in TI Casino. Everything from start to finish was amazing. The hostess, manager, and our server Danielle were all so friendly and accommodating. Danielle's service was second to none. She was spot on whenever we needed anything. She greeted us promptly after we were seated and fantastic care of us thru our entire dinner.
For appetizers we had the Crab Cakes and the Bruschetta-stuffed Cremini Mushrooms. I highly recommend both of them. They were perfectly prepared and presented and were beyond-delicious. Be prepared though as they are both VERY rich and filling, but again...oh so yummy. On past visits we have had the BBQ Pork Belly app and it too was phemonimal. I would recommend it as well.
For dinner my wife ordered the Cedar Plank Salmon for a second time and said it was just as amazing as it was the first time she tried it. Perfectly prepared and seasoned, and just like the apps, presented wonderfully. For her side she ordered the Wild Rice Pilaf, which was perfectly prepared and seasoned with a wonderful flavor.
For my dinner I had the 12oz NY Strip. The steak was well-marbled, especially for a NY, seasoned just right, and grilled to perfection. I always order my steaks Medium Rare at any restaurant and am frequently disappointed when they come out way too Medium or way too Rare. But not at Tado. My NY was done a textbook Medium Rare and the flavor was amazing. I added on a side order of four Citrus Shrimp as an accompaniment to my steak, and as with everything else we ordered they were unbelievably good. For my side dish I ordered the Au Gratin potatoes. They were very, very good with a wonderful flavor, but I did think that the portion size of those could be a bit bigger than what is presented.
All is all a fabulous meal and...
Read moreWent home tonight hungry after being served not one, but two premium angus filet mignon ($54) that were cooked to the consistency of shoe leather. I sent back my first steak, a filet mignon ordered medium rare, because it’s appearance (flat and grey), texture (tough and gritty), and taste (bland) made me ligitimatly question if I had accidentally been served the wrong cut of meat. After making the best of my side dish of sautéed mushrooms while waiting for my replacement steak I was served a filet the had been BUTTERFLIED (who in their right mind butterflies a filet?) and cooked beyond recognition. I literally told my husband it was over cooked as soon as it was placed in front of me, it was that obviously over done. I sliced into the center of the cut and it was grey, through and through. I didn’t even bother to take a bite before calling over the manager to show him the cook. I kid you not, he did not seem to understand that a medium rare steak (let alone a filet mignon) should not be grey, tough, and nearly impossible to cut. The manager asked if I would like something else, but by this point my husband had finished his entire meal, so I decided to pass and hope dessert would be better.
As for the rest of the meal, my husband had the ceasar salad (decent), I had the house salad (fair), husband had a filet (a little over cooked but ok), sautéed mushrooms side (good), loaded mashed potatoes (fair), lava cake (good) and caramel cake (okay). I had the lava cake, which was tasty but not worth the price point.
Also of note, my husband was served the incorrect side dish (which we had to correct) and it took ages to get our food . All of this on a Friday night at 7pm, which should be been when the A team is working. I will not be coming back to Tado again and recommend you...
