NO MORE GATEKEEPING!! I’ve been going to Cami’s Jamaican Restaurant in Decatur for over a year now. I drive over an hour in traffic to get oxtail from Cami’s and they never disappoint. The restaurant is a hidden gem located next to a Texaco. The layout is takeout only with grab and bottled drinks and fresh juices and desserts made in house. There are menu items catering to vegetarian and vegan diets. Cami’s has the best oxtail I’ve had in the metro Atlanta area so far. The food is always fresh and delivered with excellent customer service. The stew chicken, jerk chicken, and salmon are all 10/10. The rice is perfectly cooked and not too “dry.” The oxtail is always tender, flavorful, not too spicy and isn’t covered in fat. The mac and cheese is good. But The food coupled with excellent customer service has me running up the miles on my car but it’s SO worth it. Don’t waste your money on hit or miss (mostly miss) Jamaican food (Golden Crust) and stop by Cami’s. They’re closed on Saturdays and...
Read moreI went to Cami's on a Sunday and it was an extremely pleasant experience. The food display is that of a buffet style and I dont normally like that kind of eating, but all the food is covered and looks fresh still. I came in and didnt know what I wanted completely, but I knew I would possibly choose Oxtails. The owner gave me suggestions on foods to try and I made sure to get my oxtails but also a jerk chicken meal for my grandmother and a currry chicken plate for my daughter. My best fried got the Brown stew chicken and it all was delicious. My grandmother couldn't stop raving about her plate, and they were very generous with the gravy on the rice! I wont lie, but the sides did need a bit more seasoning, however, that can be solved with a lil salt. All in all I still give a 5 star. I had a guy in front of me with a huge order and I thought he was going to take all of the oxtails, but she saved me some and made sure I had more than enough. 10 out of 10 will eat...
Read moreThe food is really good!! I had the jerk chicken with cabbage and plantains..curry gravy. Everything was fresh and the place look very clean. The reason I give them 3 stars is, cuz of the 3 small pieces of chicken, that they gave me. 2 small legs and a small thigh. The lady asked me if I want dark, or white meat.. They did not have small, or large option on the menu. Don’t get me wrong! It’s delicious, but not for 15 bucks?! Taxes 16..tip 17! You can do better! We, as customers deserve better! The Plantains were Delicious! You could easily add one more small piece of chicken to the other 3 small pieces.. I don’t think it will bankrupt you! Will I go back? Definitely! It’s very good! It’s Delicious! But you need to give more, and you will get more..or may be I was unlucky and my portion was...
