Island Fire in Lithonia is complete perfection! Best jerk chicken in Georgia, period. Smoked and seasoned to perfection and topped with a beautiful drizzle of jerk sauce. 100% authentic yard food, exactly how it is supposed to be made. We asked for fried plantain and they made it fresh for us (just a couple minutes wait), we asked if they had any goat head soup and they hooked us up, we couldn’t have been more pleased. Not only is their food seriously good, they treat you like family here. Just the sweetest people with the best energy. Everything was just amazing, oxtail, curry goat, cabbage, their pineapple ginger juice/sorrel, cleanliness, the customer service (they really respect each and every customers time and business), just thee best hands down!! The owners are deeply committed to the quality of their work and their passion and pride are evident in everything they do. They really pour their hearts into this business! Every single bite was a treat, so flavorful and satisfying! Just a great experience all around!! I had I ordered jerk, chicken, peas, and rice. Cabbage came with it and a side of mac & cheese service was pretty quick which was great. The chicken was a bit tough and did not fall off the bone. The flavor was OK but it tastes more like barbecue chicken, then jerk chicken I asked for extra gravy and a squirt bottle was brought out and the gravy was squeezed out on the chicken. It seems like the better way would’ve been to pull it from the food that it was already in the cabbage was bland didn’t really have too much flavor, but it was fresh. The texture of the rice could’ve been less sticky. The macaroni and cheese has a good taste, and it was hot and freshdidn’t seem like it was bake long enough. It was a little runny. Really loved the interaction with the staff. Friendly, welcoming and informative. You can tell they are still building out but the base aesthetics are very pleasing. You can definitely see where this place is going. The food smelled amazing and everyone I saw leaving had a huge smile. Me and my daughter tried the beef patties, the veggie patties and the chicken pasta. The Pattie’s were good and flaky but the star was the pasta!! Some of the most delicious pasta I’ve ever had.
