Checkers — Restaurant in Redford Township

07/28/20 - Update: I had to have it again; six years ago I reviewed this location, and it upholds to this date. Today they were short staffed & they added DoorDash which delayed the drive through even more. But the staff were super patient, kind & our order was perfect from fresh fries to mayo missing from each sandwich. I live just outside Knoxville now where no other burger joint could make these delicious & affordable sandwiches.

6 years ago - The first time I've tried Checkers was after high school. I was addicted after the first bite: the seasoned beef, excellent ratio of condiments, and melted cheese reminded me of a burger you would get that most bars or bowling alleys.

The convenience and service they provide has always been a positive one, besides the area population (the Walgreens across the street recently got robbed). But the tension of the streets bring you right home in the hood.

There's no public restroom nearby, and since they closed the nearby grocery store, they keep the public restroom at Walgreens locked. So I advise getting takeout and waiting to...

I'll never go here again. It's 50/50 whether or not your food is going to be good. Alas, it's the closest fast food near my house and sometimes bad food wasnt enough to deter me. However their unprofessional workers are. They do not deserve an ounce of my business.

The amount of attitude is intense.

During my last visit, there were two cars behind me and my friend. When we tried to order and they couldn't do what we wanted, we needed a brief moment to reconfigure our order and we were told to get out of the line and to walk up to their walk-up window.

Mind you, this place has TWO drive thrus, one wasn't being used. And it's December in Michigan. So we had to get out of line and into the freezing cold because we needed another 15-20 seconds to figure out what we were getting?

We left and went to McDonalds just up grand river. When we got to the speaker and asked for "one moment please we are still trying to decide" they responded with "please, take your time!".

No problem checkers. I'll trade your sometimes amazing but often cold fries for polite workers...

Checkers food is checkers food but to be honest i was disappointed, i dont usually leave reviews but i ordered and paid for a bacon cheeseburger with xl fries and a large coke, and after the drive thru person being slightly rude because i asked for a fry lovers xl (what its called on the menu) instead of an extra large fry, she made my meal a combo. Then i get up to the window, the woman who took my money was nice, but then the woman who gave me my food handed it to me and said nothing when i said thank you and smiled, just stared at me which made me too uncomfortable to check my food even though i typically dont feel i have to. Get back to work and sit down to eat my lunch without the bacon i paid for. I know that sounds dumb, but it really was disappointing since i cant go back to fix it.
