Redford Coney Island — Restaurant in Redford Township

The grump who cooks the food appears to be very unsanitary when he digs his bare hands (no gloves) into a bucket of raw onions to put on top of a customers coney dog. There were no visible measures to keep customers safe, including no staff wearing masks or hair nets. The state of Michigan recently experienced a massive power outage, which resulted in the neighborhood grocery store being closed for days. I walked into this restaurant 2 days after purchasing a sub-standard coney dog and chilli cheese fries ( by the way he used his bare hands to scoop the cup of squeeze cheese as well) and asked to purchase a side of ranch dressing. He said the cost would be $.75, but I only had $.40 IN CHANGE. Before I could give him a solid dollar or even a tip for allowing me to only purchase the side of ranch, he threw his hand up to me and turned away shaking his head "no." The lack of humility during this interaction costed him way more money than the $.35. His demeanor was disgusting and he showed that he is ungrateful for the customers that are willing and able to still support his business during a pandemic. Myself or my family will never be back for our $30+ Sunday meals that we regularly get. The negative energy in that restaurant has been a concern for me lately, but I chose convenience. This incident shows that people block their own blessings, because I was able and WILLING to pay more than the $.75 he asked for. I only stated a fact, which was that I didn't have it in change. I wish I could give this place a zero... I been a server for 3+ years and I have never in my life treated ppl the way they do here... My waitress was very rude I had to ask her not once or twice but 5 times for my son to get his chocolate milk.. Then whwn she gave it to him he didn't even want ro drink it cuz it smelled funny... We waited almost 30 mins for our food to come out and when it did none of our eggs we're coooked right my hasbrown we're so soggy and full of grease.. My sons pancakes we're still batter in the middle.. I was not going to send back out of fear of what they would do to it... I asked to speak to a manger and she was upset that she had to get him... He offeerd to comp the meal or make new stuff but I just told him to keep it left $2 on the table and walked out... Over all I would never recommend anyone to eat here. So many nicer coneys in the area no need for this one.. So if you want good food and good service I don't suggest that you come here... This place has lost it touch and is giving coney island...

A year ago this place was great but in the last month or so they have a lot of new staff and they always seem to mess up our orders now.

The lady taking orders with the facial piercings seems very uninterested in being there and never seems to smile, we asked for well done fries over the phone and a cheese burger with cheese only and come to find the burger had pickles and mayo on it, I saw the ticket hanging and she didn't bother to write down only cheese, instead she chose to wrote no tomato no lettuce, same with the fries she didn't write well done.

That's 3 times now in the past month or so that something has been wrong with our order and we haven't noticed until it was too late.

Probably wont be ordering here much any more unless they get some better staff taking the orders and looking interested...
