Happy Garden Restaurant — Restaurant in Redford Township

I don't even know where to began. I ordered sea food there was the 8 peice shrimp and broccoli for 9.50$ Then I seen shrimp and broccoli for 10.50$ so I ordered a quart of the shrimp and broccoli and received the 8 price shrimp and broccoli paying but paying the higher price. The portion was so sad I would not recommend this place specially for the price I payed on my total order 66 dollars and some change for poorly portions. When I order Chinese food from other places I always got my moneys worth and some paying less than what I payed at happy garden. I ordered shrimp and broccoli from Peking on Gibraltar rd and get two meals out of it. I actually thtew my food in the trash from happy garden I've never eaten food so bland in my life. Alao the shrimp and broccoli was supposedbto have a brown juice to it this one had a white-ish sauce that was awful just awful. I wasted my money going there and I will never ever go there again ever!!! High priced for such bad small portion of food. All incannsaybis Peking is. King of all Chinese restaurants and thats the only place I will ever go to for Chinese food. Sorry happy garden but your food was awful tasting, the portion was not worth qhat I paid not even the pepper steak hardly no steak at all. Your cooks need to gonto cooking school. Awful. Horrible !!! Beware !!! Unprofessional!! This marks the 3rd time going to this location each time I gave them time btw to get it Right and they FAILED miserably. The lady is very RUDE and ultimately NASTY.

I ordered shrimp egg foo young in which I’ve ate this since I’ve been a child . As soon as I go to take the patty out of its container, it instantly broke in pieces ( Maybe they used the bad eggs in the current recall) !! I called to the restaurant and tried to explained, the lady started screaming and talking over me saying that “U EAT IT BROKEN RIGHT, YOU DON’T eat PATTY WHOLE “ REPEATEDLY!!! I said it doesn’t matter it should’ve never broken up into pieces ! She then rushed me off phone and hangs up . I called back she blocks me with some phone tool they use .

I would advise you either not to patronize this unappreciative restaurant or check your food before leaving!!! Just beware if anything is wrong, they will not be likely to make it right .

Not to add it’s Dark dingy and not inviting on the inside and the back door is kept opened letting flies and rats in . I’ve also witnessed customers bringing food that was messed up for whatever reason and they just took it to the back kitchen probably giving it to the next person who orders !!!

Do yourself a FAVOR and go somewhere else !! Thank me...

If I could give 0 stars I would. I have lived down the street for 20+ years and finally went excited for carry out to give a try. Was told 20 minute to PU and arrived 30 later and my order hadnt even been started. Yes, it was dinner hour but I stood at the register for 12 minutes before even being acknowledged. There was no where to sit while waiting unless you take up customer seating. When eventually paying for my order I used a debit/credit card and was told I had to go back out to my car, since my purse was in the car, for 2, yes 2!, forms of ID. Was so tired and frustrated by then I complied. On top of all that the food was truly the worst Chinese food (dine or carry) I have ever tried to eat. Soup was like water. Even salt didnt help. S&S chicken was so dried and hard I couldn't chew it, even trying a couple different pieces. My husband couldnt even eat it. Ive never once seen him refuse Chinese food. The egg roll was average, I do give them that credit. I've never complained about a restaurant before but I will never return or recommend China Garden to anyone.
