Pizza Xpress — Restaurant in Redlands

I was trying to find a good pizza place in Redlands and that’s not an easy task… yes we have all the pizza chains available everywhere domino’s, Pizza Hut, Little Caesars etc. but they are all the same… all generic same kinda taste… So yesterday I offered to pick up some pizza for dinner and I started to look for a pizza place…. And I happened to run into an add for Pizza Xpress… The prices seemed too good to be true for what you was getting and I was skeptical at first… thinking that the pizza was going to taste store bought… so time was running out and I had to make a choice… I’m so glad I that I got the pizza here… The owner was very nice. You can tell that he put love into his pizzas. He was very passionate about his pizza quality. And to my surprise… with every pizza order, you get a free small cheese pizza… every pizza he pulled out of the oven he brought it to me to see and smell… and Oh Brother did it look Great and Smelled even better… The taste was amazing… My fiancé loved it and that saying a lot because she’s from New York… and don’t forget about the wings… the wings are amazing too great taste a perfect compliment to the pizza… my suggestion is get the mango habanero So good… This is now my go too for Pizza place… Bye Bye Pizza Chains…. Hello Pizza Xpress. I would give you more stars but it only goes up to 5 stars your pizza definitely deserves more stars.

Found this place online when looking for a something to eat for dinner. We placed an order online and arrived when the website told us the order would be ready. The restaurant was a bit warm because there is no AC only fans and a swamp cooler.

There was only one person working when we arrived, I think he was the owner. Unfortunately, since he was the only one working our order wasn't started yet when we arrived. He seemed really nice and as our pizzas come out of the oven he brought them each out to show us. In all we had to wait an additional 20-25 minutes after the website told us our order would be ready. That is the reason for the 4 stars.

The pizzas themselves were very good. We ordered a cheese pizza for the kids, a meatlovers, a hawaiian, and a combo. All the pizzas smelled great when he brought them out to show us and tasted great when we got home. Definitely a good place to get pizzas from and we'll be back, but we might wait a little longer before we go pick them up so we dont have to wait in...

I ordered from GrubHub, granted I ordered at 4:20 PM in the afternoon so maybe they were busy. I ordered cheese pizza for me and then cheese pizza with olives for the other person. Fries don’t have any salt on them which is OK with me however, the phrase came completely under cooked and still raw in the middle and no crispiness on them at all!! we had to put them in our toaster oven to Crisp them up, They were soggy.

The pizza didn’t have enough sauce, there was really no flavor except the intense tomato paste taste of what little sauce was on there. The crust did not have that yeast kind of good tasting crust that you would get from a like slices and swirls in Loma Linda.

Even Domino’s is better than this. I saw half-and-half reviews, some really good and the other half bad. I don’t know what’s going on with this place because the owner seem super nice according to reviews but they really need to take the bad reviews more seriously and up...
