A quick stop for a late lunch. We ordered a chili dog with chips and a cheese steak with fries. The chili dog was way better tasting than visually. All meat chili and a decent dog underneath. The cheese steak had all of the right ingredients but somehow was lacking. Maybe a bit too much oil or maybe not enough seasoning. I really couldn't put a finger on the reason. The fries were fresh cut potatoes, slightly oily and unsalted to my taste buds. The menu is intriguing and Big Ed's deserves another visit. 6/9/24 Update Went for breakfast. Wife had a custom 2 egg omelette and I had a chili cheese omelette. Both were good. The breakfast potatoes were lacking. In my opinion, the potatoes are first baked, then sliced and onions added when placed on grill for browning. The first clue is the color. Other than the potatoes, everything was satisfactory. Although we both noticed the sausage gravy laden plates pass by and determined that we should come back and try. I also a calamari steak on the dinner menu. Since the wife loves prime rib and it is offered, we will also be back for those items.

This is a great little dinner! The food tasted freshly made, and I'm picky. The fries are freshly made, the chips are freshly made! I really can't decide which is better! I had a BLT. The sourdough toast was fresh and tasted like sourdough. The lettuce was a nice dark green, thick cut tomato that was ripe! No weird end pieces. A bunch of strips of bacon that were the perfect thickness you could actually bite it without pulling out the entire piece of bacon. Not too thin either. I'd still consider it thick cut bacon. I'd eat that sandwich every day if I lived in the area. I haven't even mentioned how nice the staff is! So accommodating! I wanted to switch my fries to chips after I order everyone was so nice about it. They work as a team and make sure you are taken care if. Tastes more homemade than restaurant in a good way.

AMAZING hole in the wall restaurant. Tiny historic building. Don't let the facade fool you. Inside this funky little bohemian restaurant is some of the freshest home cooking you will eat. I had a fried egg sandwich on sourdough with ham and cheese. It was perfection. Moist buttery and juicy. The egg was perfectly cooked. The home fries were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside and tasted as though they had just been prepared. A side of French toast was heavenly. So the food was amazing but the staff was even better. Lovely, friendly, and charming. Don't miss this family owned and operated restaurant. Ask for Vivian and Viri our waitreses and don't forget to say hi to Joe and Daisy proprietors. Tell them Leonardo sent you.

I brought my friend in for lunch on Friday, Jan 31st. It was her birthday. We have gone out quite a few times for lunch and she always orders a French Dip Sandwich! She has rated other places either being "just okay" or "ugh, there's more fat than meat."

It's official! Big Ed's Alley Inn are THE BEST!!!

I wanted to take her somewhere different. My Google search listed Big Ed's in the Top 10 for their French Dips. Nice portions using prime rib NOT roast beef. Fries were yummy! The server was very nice. We arrived @2p to avoid a lunch rush. We kinda had the place to ourselves. The place is clean. We had a nice time. The sandwich is $15.95 - worth every penny. A Coors Light and Bud $5. No...not $5 for 2 domestic bottles. They're $5 EACH! Ouch. Today, I looked on their website to see if there's a happy hour. I didn't see one.

We will be back! We'll just pre-cocktail first! Don't get me wrong. I'm not a tightwad. Usually, we'd have 1-3 beers each. But six beers for $30?? I'd rather use $30+ and order 2 more...

So it has been a long time since I ordered the seafood omelette and you can only get it on the weekends. So today I went there and ordered the seafood omelette. Not only was the egg omelette so they call it so thin that it was more like a crêpe, but they didn’t put any cheese on it and it’s supposed to have jack cheese. And I told them I ordered the four egg omelette, which was big fluffy and stuff, but it wasn’t. It was more like a crêpe. There was no cheese on it plenty of seafood. I gotta say that, but there was no cheese and there was hardly any hollandaise sauce on it I was very disappointed because I used to come there all the time on the weekends and order the seafood omelette because it was so delicious This time it wasn’t. I was very disappointed beyond belief actually for $20 and you get pretty much nothing. When before you got the world, big thick omelette with a bunch of cheese and all the seafood and the hollandaise sauce up it was delicious. This was bullshit so they...
