We came to Reno to visit a friend. We had heard Rick's Pizza was wonderful. Stopped in for dinner and see for ourselves. The restaurant is quaint and friendly. Easy to place an order, several wait staff members to assist. Atmosphere was energetic and pleasant. A couple of times a young man by the name of Max, who is the bartender, walked by our table on his way to assist other customers. As he passed he smiled and said hello to us which was very friendly. We got our pizza which was wonderful. We proceeded to eat and I continued to watch Max only because we was not only tending the guests at the bar, but assisted customers who were leaving and coming in. Smiling the whole time. I was impressed with his ability to be cheerful, smile, and keep up with the busy environment. As Max was walking by our table, i asked him for a box for our remaining pizza. He also mentioned he was going to bring a bag for our containers of Ranch Dressing, which has a fabulous flavor. Max got the box for the pizza, handed me the bag and when I said thank you, he said "you are so welcome". As we left, we made the point to thank Max again for his great service. His smile said it all as he said Your Welcome and waved us good-bye. Our next trip to Reno we will definately make a point of stopping in again and hoping Max...
Read moreThe service and staff are very friendly here and I go often because of how close I live, It is really in a great location for people in the University Area. The upstairs seating is fun too, I like sitting up there and watching the students walk and cars pass by on the street. The menu is good, nothing special but it has variety. My favorite thing is the Garlic Cheese Knots because they have nice chunks of garlic on them. Their pizza is really good, and the crust is one of my favorite in town. The only problem I have with their pizzas is that the toppings aren't fully cooked always, sometimes the onion and bell pepper will come out raw. I don't mind really but I could see other people being upset. The drink menu is pretty lacking, but It's called Rick's Pizza and Beer, not Rick's Pizza and Artisanal Microbrews, so I can't really complain.
The only reason I give this restaurant 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the pricing and sizes. The pizzas are really small for the price, and the price is really high for the pizzas. I understand that for a independently owned business as small as this is, it's hard to keep up in price value with the major chains, but it's the biggest deterrent from me eating...
Read moreThis was my third time ever visiting. The first time was when it first opened and I got a lukewarm beer and cold pizza. I went to a DG event there, my second visit, and decided the food was great, so I’d give it a second chance. Ordered a 10” cheese bread and a slice of the Wolf Pack combo pizza. The food was fine. What wasn’t fine was the fact that I was overcharged. Albeit I was overcharged by a small amount, it was obnoxious. I figured the guy ringing me up was just a bartender and I’d bring it up with someone else. After I got my food there was zero interaction with anyone who worked there, which was bizarre. Heck, people check on me more at McDonald’s and Wendy’s.
Will probably not be going back.
Tl;dr: The food is okay, but the menu prices...
