Great service, Tortas Ahogadas Chapala specializes in a popular Mexican dish called "tortas ahogadas," which translates to "drowned sandwiches." These sandwiches consist of a birote (a type of bread) filled with various meats such as pork, beef, or chicken, and then topped with a spicy tomato sauce.
The tortas ahogadas at Tortas Ahogadas Chapala are simply amazing! The bread is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the meat is tender and flavorful. The tomato sauce is the perfect blend of spicy and tangy, and it complements the sandwich very well. Additionally, they offer a variety of salsas and toppings to customize your sandwich to your liking.
Apart from the tortas ahogadas, they also offer other Mexican dishes such as tacos, burritos, and tostadas, which are all equally delicious. The portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable.
The restaurant itself is small and cozy, with a casual atmosphere. The staff is friendly and attentive, and they make sure that your dining experience is a pleasant one.
Overall, I would highly recommend Tortas Ahogadas Chapala to anyone who is a fan of Mexican food or is looking to try something new. The food is exceptional, the prices are reasonable, and the service is excellent. It is definitely...

This place used to my favorite before I moved away. The food was delicious and the service was on point (kudos to the girl with the braces who always greeted us with an intentional, authentic smile). After not going for 2 years, I was excited to go back a few days ago. Sad to say it went downhill so bad. The service was terrible! The new waitresses treated my dad like he was dumb, and were super defensive when we asked for modifications on our orders. The food also tasted overdone/charred. My entire family ended up with stomach issues after our recent visit. The only positive thing I have to say is that the salsa for the chips is still good. I hope they get back to their original business model of good food and wonderful service, and we are happy to try it...
Read moreI do not understand the hype about this place. I ate there today with my family for lunch and it was ridiculously crowded. Half of the wait staff worse masks and no one in the kitchen wore a mask. There are absolutely no covid precautions taking place. The food was mehh at best. The asada burrito I ordered was like any other burrito you can order it just was not memorable. The salsas come in these tiny containers that leave you wanting more and its not that the salsa is amazing its just that the burrito is dry. The kids menu is just two items. My dad ordered a coke and he never received it. I guess if you want to wait a long time for mediocre food come through... other than that I would just go to one of the food...
