Casa Mexicana Grill & Cantina - Rice Lake, WI — Restaurant in Rice Lake

I have visited this restaurant twice. My initial review was 5 stars because the food was delicious and the staff were friendly. I'm having to write a new review due to the second visit last Saturday (10/17). First, we ordered online and were told it would be 20 minutes. Showed up 30 minutes later and went inside to pick it up- it was a mad house. I had to wait over another 30 minutes for my order. I recognize that the issue lay in the new online ordering platform and that they were overwhelmed with orders, but they had both my email and phone number. I feel strongly that someone should have called/messaged to let me know about theand inquire if I still wanted the order. Staff were apologetic and obviously flustered but we who were waiting on orders weren't offered anything for our time (again, my 20 minute order took over an hour). But, for me, the biggest issue was how completely PACKED they were. I saw maybe 5 people wearing masks. All the tables were stuffed. No one was 6ft apart from one another. Staff was not masked at all. I was extremely uncomfortable. I ordered online specifically due to covid concerns. I would have just left the food, but had paid ahead of time online. I'm extremely disappointed in the experience. As good as the food is (and it really is good), we won't be returning. Food was quick and delicious! I would love to give you another tip. This one with my words. You all work so hard, and you have a great restaurant. The best Mexican food. Always busy. Excellent family staff. NO waiting for service. Seated right away. Restaurant has expanded. Lots of color inside, a fountain, Hand painted walls , The food is excellent. Doesn't matter what it is. Made to your request if you'd like. Very good flan, a Spanish desert. They are very appreciative and show it in their service. Friendly, servers make sure all is fine and check on refills without being asked. Rice Lake LOVES CASA MEXICANA. When they opened the line went around corner and owner worked right along with their staff. Last I counted they now have 4 plus restaurants . All run by friendly Family. They are there to serve with graciousness and are busy, buy ,busy! CHECK THEM OUT.BEST FRESH MEXICAN FOOD.They prepare your food fresh. Nothing sits around waiting for orders.
