FUJIâs sushi is still alive and well and truthfully maybe even better than ever at Watami! That is saying A LOT because the sushi at FUJI was an easy 10 out of 10! I wanted to post this incase anyone (like myself) has been craving some of their old favorites, not knowing they could still be getting them! Lena, who was a former long time waitress at Fuji has owned Watami with her husband for the last 2ish years. The first time I walked in there and realized who owned it, it was like catching up with an old friend, it felt so good! They are located down by the Corner Coffee Shop in Geistown. If youâve never been make sure to stop by and check them out, you wonât be disappointed! You canât ever go wrong with pink ladies & crab ragoon! If youâre feeling adventurous try the peach strawberry yogurt bubble tea, the green tea bubble tea flavors are also great too! I had never tried a bubble tea before this place but now it's become a staple with my order! The service is unmatched, Lena is one of the friendliest ladies I know & its a super clean environment! I can't say enough great things about this place, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a...
Read moreThis isnât just the best Japanese restaurant in the area, itâs one of the best restaurants in the area overall.
The food is unbelievably good and well-portioned for the price, plated beautifully, and delivered quickly. The sushi rolls are the best in the area, without a doubt. Bubble tea is affordable for a large serving and the tapioca is the perfect consistency. Everything is consistently fantastic; Iâve never had one thing here that wasnât a 10/10 and Iâve visited several times on different days/times.
Dine-in atmosphere is comfortable and very clean. I worry a lot about cleanliness at restaurants and even I feel totally comfortable here. Service is incredible too- very kind and accommodating servers, fast service, even free samples of new dishes and drinks.
Also, I consistently find that I spend less money here than at other comparable restaurants but get more food and leave feeling like I enjoyed myself more than at other places.
Watami is such an amazing addition to the area and they definitely have made lifelong customers out of me and my family. Thank you so much for everything and I already canât wait to come...
Read moreTL;DR: Great food, great prices, great service.
FOOD: We had the fried tofu and vegetable gyoza for appetizers and both were perfect. For entrees my husband had the Udon soup and the miso broth was, frankly, phenomenal. I ordered the Fancy Roll was also excellent and the portions were quite large. We also shared a Taro milk tea which was delicious.
SERVICE: Upon entering we were greeted and seated immediately. Our waitress was very kind and attentive, and our food was prepared quite quickly.
ATMOSPHERE: The dining room is clean, unassuming, and charmingly typical of a hole-in-the-wall restaurant with great food. This isnât an âupscaleâ establishment but care has been taken to make it welcoming, with touches of Japanese decor and small vases of silk flowers on each table. The bathroom was also very clean, which is always a welcome indication of the restaurantâs attentiveness to hygiene and guest comfort.
SUMMARY: Highly recommend this business that is clearly run with great care by talented people. If you like Japanese cuisine, youâll...
