We stayed at the lodge for the first time this weekend for our first wedding Anniversary. We booked reservations at the restaurant to enjoy on our anniversary night and we were really looking forward to it based off the great reviews. However, when we arrived they did not have our river view seating available that we reserved so I said we would just sit outside (we didn’t want to wait as we hadn’t ate all day). And good thing too because we watched and none of those seats opened up for a very long time. The staff wasn’t super friendly and we were then seated outside at a table that was not clean and feathers were blowing all over my face. Not a huge deal but not a great atmosphere for a nice anniversary dinner. We then waited almost 40 minutes for someone to come take our order. I was very confused as I saw many waiters and we just kept figuring they’d come. I’ve never waited that long to have my order taken, or to even be checked on at all. I should have asked but I honestly just kept thinking they would come. The waiter apologized and said there was some confusion on who was taking our table. Weird? Not sure what that was about but she also wasn’t super friendly. After another almost 40 minutes we got our food. We then had to wait for a knife for ten minutes after she said she was going to grab one. The food was good, nothing out of this world but definitely not bad. Our water cups were dirty and and had stuff floating in them. When we booked our reservation they asked what we were celebrating so I kinda thought they'd maybe write on a dessert for our anniversary or something? Why ask if they don’t do anything? Just seemed weird. The outdoor seating was also very uncomfortable and you slid back in your seat so it made it hard to eat and to talk to each other because we felt far away. I’d recommend sitting inside if you can. Overall, it was a really long wait and decent food for an okay price. But expensive for us and it wasn’t very special at all. No one really apologized much or made it right. They hardly even checked on our table. Definitely wouldn’t recommend coming back to the restaurant. The lodge was great and we enjoyed our stay however we felt the restaurant was a waste of our...

The bar is wonderful. Creatively mixed drinks, well paired wines, and quick and consistent service are highlights even seated in the restaurant.
The waitstaff knows their menu and have the experience and observational skills to provide excellent recommendations. The chorizo clams were amazing and came highly recommended. The waitstaff's recommendation was a strong one but the description paled in comparison to the wonderful nature of the dish. Providing a spoon with which to consume every drop was the waiter's touch; the spoon was critical.
The Steelhead was so good, we contemplated ordering a second one to take with us. Wonderfully executed risotto (the peas!), mushrooms for days, and perfectly cooked and seasoned fish came together to make the experience.
The Beef Tender Medallions were outstanding. Amply-sized medallions, heavenly-rich mashed potatoes cut by a slightly acidic glaze on the asparagus, a chimichurri as much a feast for the eyes as the mouth. Wonderfully conceived and executed.
Desserts. Get everything. The cheesecake? Outstanding. The baklava? Crisp and flaky, wonderful.
While dining in Mid-May, we had the unfortunate experience of an incredibly obstinate diner who had, by all accounts, never really enjoyed a menu curated by an excellent chef. After berating every member of the staff and having somewhere near $250 in food comped, the party abandoned their ringleader who attempted to make friends with everyone coldly sitting nearby.
The front house staff did a wonderful job attempting to placate a set of terrible human beings and I cannot compliment them enough for their efforts. Afterwards, my party and two other parties came together to commiserate over more fine drinks, capping off one of the best dinner experiences I have ever had by making four new friends.
We came back for breakfast which was also amazing. Eggs Benedict forever and...
Read moreIf there's a bright center of the culinary universe, the Tri-Cities is the place it's furthest from. 95% of local "eateries" are a grotesque insult to food, however Drumhellers is often one of the less offensive options in this triple threat of taste-forsaken cities. Our recent visit was during restaurant construction. We had two little ones (both under 8), and while they did kindly host us, it took upwards of 90 minutes to be served. Our kids were starving, so we're my wife and I. And the food, while adequate, WAS NOT REMOTELY WORTH THE WAIT - PLUS THEY BOTCHED THE ORDER IN MULTIPLE WAYS, NOT ADHERING TO OUR ORDER. Then, due to typical hijinks from the little ones, we ended up misunderstanding the hostess, whom we thought had taken our payment, and we made our way to our vehicle. The hostess came out after us (where we were mid-process of getting our kids safely clicked in,and at a blatantly leisurely pace, I might add,) and with palpable attitude, assumed we were attempting a dine-and-dash. First off, who the hell tries that with two cumbersome children in tow? Secondly, our credit card was left behind on the table, which even once the hostess witnessed, she did not apologize nor did she lift any portion of her suspicion. It actually shook my wife a bit, to be so accused. Alleged "fine" hotels should never place such an inexperienced person as host. Even if we had done as the hostess suspected, she could have handled it with grace and cool. I understand that she may well have been made financially responsible, and so I sympathize, as it was a big bill. Still, faces of hotels should beam grace, not suspicion. So, after the 90 minute wait, the barely par food, and the accusatory hostess, I cannot remotely recommend this place- unless you can't get in at one of the other three reasonable places to eat around here. Try...
