This review is for the park, not the indoor restaurant. It’s hard to post a poor review for this place. The ambience is SO special, they are SO dog friendly, the live music is absolutely lovely, and the service is solid. It’s also amazing how clean it is, given that there are dogs at almost every table. The sparkling wines are fabulous for the summer. The poor review is exclusively for the food. We thought we’d start with the hummus and veggie platter, and pimento cheese, and share a pizza later. Oh boy. The hummus is good. The pimento cheese is good. But… the massive servings of fried chips and fried pita were so incredibly off-putting, we couldn’t make it to more food. Frying pita bread is a crime against Mediterranean food (and carbs, in general). It doesn’t taste good, the texture is awful, I have NO idea why anyone does it. Especially not with thick bread, like this. It’s like biting into a deep-fried kitchen sponge. Secondly, 4 carrots, 4 pieces of tomato and 5 celery sticks, do not maketh a crudité. I found a waiter and said I’d pay whatever they wanted to charge, for an actual plate of veggies. They were nice enough to comp it, but, for the 3 of us, we got the same again. I literally would have forked out $25 for an actual plate of veggies. People who order hummus and veggies are probably the wrong audience for an inordinately large helping of fried accompaniments. I don’t know any group of people who could put away that volume of chips and fried bread, but maybe that’s just me. Either way, we would probably have spent another $150 on drinks and food, had the appetizers not been so awful. We picked around the lard snacks, finished our wine, went to the grocery store for veggies and hummus, and finished the party at home 🤷🏻‍♀️ If the food was good, and they had any, real, healthy food options, I’d be camping out there every weekend, all weekend. Pity. The search continues…

I’ve so been looking forward to this opening this year and given the state of things with the Pandemic, not only did I feel protected according to guidelines, it felt like the most natural and normal experience I could have in this time. The use of QR Code at the table lended to convenience in a good way, yet was still able to showcase very good service from multiple servers/bussers despite the need for less contact limitations. I appreciated the variety of wine, personally had the Sauv Blanc and the Rosé, both excellent for the hot weather. And then my group followed up with a few cocktails, didn’t touch on the beer side of things this time around. Also, indulged in a BLT and way too many orders of waffle fries (in the best way). Rest of the food options sounded great, especially the platters! In combination with the live music, the ambiance and set up of furniture lended to quite the nice laid back vibe, both in the sun and at night, we stayed much longer than anticipated, woops. Made my reservation via the Resy App which was a breeze, most definitely look forward to returning and have already recommended to friends. Cheers to the staff for an excellent job opening!

Brambly Park is, without question, a hidden gem in the corner of Scott’s Addition, let alone the Greater Richmond Area. It offers a multitude of dining experiences, ranging from a laid back, self-services park-esq area (where the food is as great as the conviene of ordering from your table and watching the food make it’s way to you), to a more upscale Bari area complete with a covered patio! The wine selection is vast, with an option for every taste or palette, which pairs perfectly with the food offered. For not being a dedicated pizza place, they have some of the best in the RVA area. The Tartufo, with its combination of mushrooms, argulula and wildflower honey, is one of the most unique combinations of flavors I’ve had on a pie in a long time. The beer and cocktail menus are no slouch either. They carry, from local breweries, a variety of drafts and bottles or cans. The “Pinã Killer” is an absolute must! The staff is friendly and attentive, and I have yet to see anyone here give a customer a bad experience. Would highly recommend coming, whether it’s the park area or inside, it’s worth the visit!

Edit: Our concerns were quickly addressed and I sincerely appreciate that. Brambly is a fun outdoor family friendly venue and outside of our one negative experience we have always had a great time. Definitely recommend reserving a table because it’s a very popular spot, especially on a weekend when the weather is nice!

Literally just had a super off putting experience, prior to this I would have given 5 stars because I’m always the first to suggest Brambly and have always had positive experiences. We come all the time and always have fun since it’s a great place to bring our kid for a day outside. Of course it being a beautiful weekend day, it was busy.. we were coming from the VMFA and hadn’t planned on coming so we didn’t have a reservation but had a big picnic blanket - they told us if we wanted to order food or drinks just give a description of where we were sitting so that’s what we did.. ordered our food no problem, then our food came.. again, no problem.. then while we were eating a member of the staff came up and told us it was a health code violation and we couldn’t have food on our blanket and asked us which QR code we scanned to get food.. Like we literally followed the instructions we were given and our food was brought to us. She then asked if she could take away our food or box it up… like, what? No - we are actively eating and my child is quite obviously not having a good time at the moment - read the room. I wouldn’t have left a review if not for this next part - we are finishing up and trying to leave and our friend is at the bar texting us that she is back there and he couldn’t hear exactly what she said but that she either called me a b!* or if she said she was being one to us while yelling at the bartender and the bar back. We are here to have fun at a what I thought was a family friendly place for less than an hour before going home. It totally makes sense that it’s a health code violation, having worked in food service for many years I understand that but the fact that she approached us the way she did and essentially accused us of being in the wrong and then trying to take away our food.. are you kidding me? 0/5 for her, she should not have a people facing job, she was so rude. 5/5 for the...

We came in to celebrate Father's Day and received very disappointing service.

We were the 4th table in our server's section, so she wasn't very busy. Between the four of us we ordered a burger, two different types of Benedict, and the big breakfast. On one of the Benedict orders we requested that the eggs be cooked firmly. We each ordered our own alcoholic beverage as well.

It's my understanding that eggs Benedict includes a poached egg but apparently that's not the case at Brambly Park. Both Benedicts came out with over easy, very runny fried eggs. After our food was dropped off, our server didn't return to ask us if everything was ok or if we needed anything else. We didn't have salt, pepper, or any kind of condiment and would have loved to ask for some. I ended up taking some hot sauce off of another table since we waited about 10 mins and still hadn't been checked on.

We eventually flagged down our server and explained that one order was incorrect. She took the plate back and the manager came to apologize and explain that they're making a new one, which was appreciated.

Unfortunately that order took about 20 minutes to come out and the rest of us had finished our meals already. What she received was two eggs fried over hard and ham that was very undercooked. It took too long to get anyone to check on us again, so we ate what we could and moved on.

After our meal we were never checked on again. Never got our waters refilled more than once and we each would have loved to get another drink but never had the opportunity to order another one.

In total, we received very lackluster, slow service - to the point where one of us didn't even get to eat with the rest of the table - and two incorrectly cooked eggs Benedict and undercooked fries on the burger meal. I watched our server attend to the other tables around us just fine while completely ignoring us. Maybe it was an off day for her...and the management...and the food runners, but this was far below what's acceptable. Overall an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience. Happy...
