Qui's Cafe — Restaurant in Richmond

I was excited to try here but I have to say that I do have complaints. The first is I’d like to know how in the world they can justify some of their outrageous prices. My daughter ordered the banana pudding which was pretty small. While she did say it was good, it definitely was not $5 good. I ordered an unsweetened tea and couldn’t believe the color of it when I removed the top. It didn’t even qualify as weak tea. It looked like they filled the cup with water and ice and then took a tea bag that had been used 5 times and squeezed it into the cup!!! I went up to show them and I asked if this was what they considered tea? Their response was yes, that’s how their unsweetened tea looks. What??!! At $2.25??!! So my daughter got a wing dinner with Mac n cheese n fries, coke, the banana pudding and small soup. I got small greens, small soup and the so called tea. $40!!!!!! I ordered Macaroni & Cheese,JeMaes Collard Greens, and Wing Flavors: 6 Garlic Parmesan. The mac and cheese and greens were good but not phenomenal. I had them once; I never have to have them again. I wouldn't pay for them again, and I wouldn't drive across town for them again. However, I would eat them again, so I would say they're just slightly above mediocre. The chicken had a decent flavor, but for my expectations, it was terrible! I'm not familiar with these dry crusty crumbs as "garlic parmesan," I don't see how this is a hit. I think people are lying to you, and they're afraid to tell you that this style of flavoring is trash. Well came...

I had the pleasure of eating here last weekend while visiting a friend in Richmond. I always try to find locally owned soul food restaurants whenever I’m traveling. I was very much impressed with the food, customer service, and ambiance of this establishment. The owner came out to greet my friend and I and chatted a bit. Everything was awesome!! I recommend the wings (I had the cherry pineapple) Mac & cheese, collards, and whipped banana pudding. Thank you to the owner and staff for making my visit memorable. I will definitely be back.
