This is indeed a neighborhood dive bar with a horseshoe-shaped bar, booths and a few tables available, and in my experience visiting here many times on various days of the week, I've found nothing but friendly fun people of all walks with ages ranging from 21 - 70.
Yes, this is located in an older building that's not shiny and brightly lighted with the latest fashionable sconces inside or out. Smoking is allowed inside the main bar, but the ventilation is excellent, and coming from a nonsmoker who is affected by cigarette smoke, I've not once experienced air that was not breathable or smelled more like smoke than beer. I've never left with my clothes smelling like an ashtray.
There's always a mix of cultures and no one is shunned or made to feel unwelcome. Even with a full bar and only two bartenders I've rarely had to wait more than a few minutes for a drink.
There's a small pool table and other games available. This is not a dingy, Smokey, unfriendly geriatric bar- Go by any night of the week and you will experience this.
The Locker Room is a far better location than "The Forest" right across the parking lot that is what seems to me a segregationist bar frequented only by one culture, with bartenders who are unfriendly and unwelcoming as was proved the VERY last time I went where one of them put salt in my beer and laughed with "the regulars" as I attempted to drink it.
My go-to place if I want to relax and have a drink and friendly conversation with fun people of all gender persuasions, races and sexual preferences is The Locker Room where the pours are large, the prices are cheap, and the...
Read moreEverything canât be racist. Iâm an African American woman from Ooltewah, Tennessee and nobody has given me a hard time here. Iâve made several friends and my husband and I visit regularly. Austin, Jesse, Doug and Birdie are great. Birdie even got a guy away from me when he tried to put a drink on my tab because he wanted to make me âpayâ for petting his service dog which we found out wasnât a service dog. Dorian made a guy leave for speaking to my friend inappropriately. Plus this is the best place if you want a good time and have a few drinks and not pay $150 for it. Itâs black, white, minority and LGBTQ+ friendly. Itâs almost a self governing bar. You canât come in Locker Room and show your ass and expect to drink in peace....
Read moreExtremely racist first-time experience from the bartender/server named âGeorger Râ (name on my receipt). An African-American customer offered to pay for a shot for me and my other African-American guest, and Georger denied serving us. When asked why, he answered âIâm not making you all anythingâ. However, he proceeded to serve the White customers until closing time. When we went outside, shocked from this incident, a female African-American guest stated that she had a similar experience that same night, and was complaining to security about it. I was truly looking forward to this place, but I will NEVER recommend it to anyone. Terrible service, and based on my HR background, Georger should be...
