DaVinci Pizza — Restaurant in Richmond

I ordered a supreme stromboli, gyro, greek salad and cheesecake from DaVinci's through Grub Hub tonight around 5:07 pm.

In my order notes for the stromboli: NO green peppers (allergic), add sausage, extra marinara. The Grub Hub ordering app states there could be an upcharge for ingredients added in the notes section, that was fine with me.

In my order notes for the gyro: add feta cheese (paid 65c extra), extra olives, sauce on side. I was happy to add a 20% tip to my order for the extra work entailed.

I get a supreme stromboli WITH green peppers, NO sausage, 1 tiny cup of sauce. The gyro has cheese, but it's NOT feta, and 9 pieces of black olives. The Greek salad is iceberg lettuce with the usual feta cheese, cucumber, tomatoes, red onions, black olives instead of Greek olives (Kalamata) - but fresh ingredients and yummy Italian dressing. The menu said it came with fresh baked garlic bread, but this came with a plain, long bread stick cut in half. The cheesecake is decent sized and tasty.

The manager was called. I either wanted the stromboli and gyro replaced or given a refund for those items. I said one bite was taken of the stromboli and the gyro hadn't been touched, they could have the food back for proof the order wasn't right.

The manager REFUSED to replace or give a refund for the food! Says he's been in business for over 20 years, he knows the order was made correctly, the restaurant was always careful when it came to allergies, there was no way it could have been wrong.

So now I have a stromboli I CAN'T eat and a gyro for my lunch tomorrow that I WON'T eat.

Plus a resentment towards that restaurant guy and irritation over wasting money.

You should get what you pay for,...

Came in to give them a try just to see if I might be pleasantly surprised by a good pizza. What I found was typical Richmond pizza with an overly sweet sauce, inexpensive cheese, and a crust that was nothing special, although a little better than most places. Staff seemed very friendly and efficient and they've got specials and good prices, which is the draw here.

This is a neighborhood spot for teenagers and people wanting cheap food, but definitely not a place where your taste buds will be rocked, and no place I need to come back to for pizza or anything else.

The breaded chicken items here are pre Frozen like most of the food here, but it's what a lot of people are used to with run-of-the-mill food.

I'm sure they'll do well in the neighborhood and I hope they do well here as turnover in this location has been pretty heavy.

If you're a woman who lives alone, don't order delivery from here. I'm sad to say that I had to stop ordering delivery from this place. The food was always delicious but there was just one problem. The delivery guy. It was always the same man over a span of 2 years. He always made inappropriate comments to me. He asked me on a date. Despite me telling him no several times he continued to try to flirt with me and get me to go on a date with him. He did this every time I ordered delivery. He made me uncomfortable with ordering from DaVinci's anymore. Management should take note of this because this man could be costing them customers by simply not taking no for an answer and persisting unwanted romantic advances with...
