My two kids and I came to Victory Bar &a Grill here in Richmond today. I am disappointed and dissatisfied because of the unnecessary hassle I was given as I tried to replace my meal when I realized I wasn't able to eat it. I had ordered a dish that I couldn't eat because I was on a doctor ordered meal plan but I didn't realize my mistake until the food reached our table. I simply asked our waiter Alexis(who was great by the way) to replace that meal with a burger. She said okay and after a while the manager came and said that she had talked to the owner and they said it wasn't allowed (which I highly doubt). I simply said okay that's fine and for them to bring me a burger so I could take off the things I could not eat and only eat the meat. She said okay and then they brought out the meal that I had SENT BACK again and I told them that I didn't want it back. The manager then came and rudely said that I would have to pay for the burger as well as if I did not have the finances to handle the payment of my own meal. She then left and the burger was brought out but I just wanted to point out how disrespectfully and incorrectly she handled the situation. The managers name was Tabetha and she is in need of some...

I'm not quite sure how they could even call it a buffet as they had next to nothing but the basic bacon, sausage, eggs and home fries to choose from. The plates they had did not look clean, flies flying around everywhere, landing on the food and tables and when I went to serve myself bacon, after placing it on my plate I noticed a few pieces of black hair stuck to it. After bringing it to their attention they brought out new bacon, placing it in the same tray as the one I got with the hair.
After that I decided not to eat. When we went to pay, they didn't offer a discount or anything so I mentioned it to the woman what had happened she gave me a very difficult time just to give me a measly 10% off. And to top it off, offered no apology. I wouldn't recommend eating here, not because of the hair but because they clearly don't give a crap about their customers enough to just give a simple apology about...
Read moreI'm on the edge of 5 stars in every category "for the venue". But I'll just rate 4 across the board. The food is fairly simple, not a pretentious menu, and made well. It's better than most diners and not quite a tablecloth place, so to speak. Like a corporate sit down eatery, but without the excess grease and sugar. Really just decent, good, regular, food.
Waitress was new and very attentive and friendly- bartender was exactly what you want in a hotel bar (experienced, low key, not flashy. Good at upselling- helpful at explaining drinks.) Atmosphere is good, a little bit overly minimalist but comfortable, quiet, and neat lighting.
Nachos are top notch "east coast Americana" , pub chips are the real thing, chicken Ceasar was very well done- the only caveat there is it was not tossed with dressing (it should be, at least lightly)
I know this sounds underwhelming, but it's actually a surprisingly good experience and much better than I was hoping...
