John's Best Pizza — Restaurant in Ridgefield

I live in town, but I'd never been here. Decided to swing by on a whim for lunch today. I mentioned it was my first time there and was looking for pizza for myself. The friendly waitress helped me pick out a personal pizza and even suggested a topping (she suggested onions to go with my sausage and peppers), then said it would take "about 10 minutes."

I was literally the only customer in the restaurant when I placed my order, so I was a little surprised when it took over 20 minutes to get the food. And then I was a little disappointed to see that the onions she suggested to go with my sausage and peppers was missing. They had put olives on instead of onions. Not a big deal since I don't hate olives, just not what I ordered.

The pizza itself was ok. Flavor was pretty good, but it was a little too oily and soggy for my tastes. Had trouble picking up the pieces, so had to use my fork.

The manager (or owner?) asked how everything was, and I mentioned the order mix-up, so she gave me a full refund which was nice.

Verdict: clean restaurant with friendly staff, but I was a little underwhelmed with the pizza they made. Because they tried to make it right by comping the bill, I will go back one more time before giving up, but I think I'll try something else...

Unassuming from the roadside view, but dont be mistaken...the Food is FAB.....Mussels were great..signature Salad one of my Favs...mushroom tortellini is creamy..and great....Escarole and beans very tasty...Salmon is great...recipes are very flavorful and value for the money is excellent......only con I have is Pastafagoli used to be amazing...somehow it is thin and .more tomatoes now..recipe not the same as last year....lacks the creamy taste it had........but these people work hard..owning a business is tough in FF County.............. PS ...the 2 Cheese Pizza Slecial Take Out..FABULOUS plain cheese...

Best Italian Restaurant in Ridgefield!

John's Best is very underestimated and unfortunately overshadowed by their neighbor next door. But I promise you, they are very worth the visit or take out. They are reasonably priced and include extras like salad and bread with their entrees. Maria and her team especially George (delivery driver) are great and go above any beyond to provide a great experience.
