Shucker's Oyster Bar — Restaurant in Ridgeland

ok let me start off by saying, the bartenders are amazing. i have absolutely no problem with any of them, my issue is with the SECURITY ! my boyfriend and i, and my 2 friends went out to shuckers together after a shift at our RESTAURANT job, so trust i understand how that stuff works lol ! shuckers closes at 2 am, let me repeat …. 2am… at about 1:30 , i got 4 rumple shots. me and my friend took our 4 shots outside where we were sitting, then went to the bathroom before we took them. then we got a call while we were in the bathroom… soooo apparently at shuckers, they will PHYSICALLY THROW you out and throw your drinks away even though it’s 15 mins til close. my friend and i came out of the bathroom, our shots were taken from our table and thrown away by the bouncer, and my boyfriend and other friend had been forcibly kicked out. the bouncer came to the table, took the shots off the table, and threw my bf and friend out for absolutely NO REASON, then had a huge issue with me when i went to get my money back!, a 21 year old girl, and were cussing at me (grown men), even though i was completely RESPECTFUL ! …..we were not belligerently drunk, we were not yelling or making a scene. i went back inside with my friend to get the shots that we had paid for cause i was not gonna let that slide … and thankfully the bartender was very understanding. on the other hand, the men bouncers were INCREDIBLY disrespectful and were talking to my girl friend and i like we were scum. it was an embarrassing experience on their end. and like i said, i work in a restaurant, i bartend… like i understand… but this was completely uncalled for and it was the worst experience i have ever had at ANY restaurant. thank you bouncers, ya’ll suck…. i hope it gets better cause lord knows it needs to. and to that guy with the glass eye, wake up on the better side of bed tomorrow man!!!...

I would've given 4.5 stars for food, waitressing staff (such sweet girls), and live music, but we had a very bad experience the last time going and will never be back. Just an FYI for those of you who don't get a baby sitter every time you want to go out to eat and hear live music with friends (or those of you who will be with others with children), children cannot be in there after 10 on weekDAYS even when just listening to a live band on the deck without a full house. We didn't know until the bartender very rudely refused to serve our friends any more alcohol because me and my husband had our child with us.. And instead of explaining it calmly, the manager came out and went off on my husband and friends. My husband was understandably very rude back, but instead of trying to de-escalate the situation (as a manager of a bar where people have been drinking should do), he antagonized my husband to come over the bar at him.. In front of everyone else in the bar. Our child was behaving, and I was the water drinking designated driver, so we didn't see a problem. There were even people walking out with us saying how wrong the whole situation was and how badly we were treated. We had been dozens of times to this restaurant (with our child) but never at night.. There are no signs posted about children after 10, so apparently we were just supposed to know. Awful last experience! And sad because my husband and my dad both loved coming for...

Food is good but the Manager Bret and server Katie customer service is horrible. I just tried to order a meal I get all the time over the phone and was met with attitude. So I tried to come in and speak with a manager to get some clarity and more attitude and push back. I order the same meal everytime I eat here which is for both lunch and dinner. I always get onion rings as my side with the understanding that there is an up charge to do so for dinner. I told both of them that I was fine paying the up charge just place the order only for them to repeat that there is either an upcharge or it comes with fries. I showed the manager my receipt showing I was just her last week for dinner purchasing the same meal and was told they messed up because they were able to place my order properly. I ultimately left without purchasing anything because of the customer service and was actually told by the manager I should have stayed home simply because I was trying to give Shuckers...
