I’m a business traveler and came to this diner because of good reviews on Google. The waitress, Emily, was very friendly and attentive. I asked if they served eggs Benedict because I didn’t see it in the menu. Emily said they do, even though she couldn’t find it in the menu either. I asked if they serve the eggs Benedict with Canadian bacon (because some restaurants serve it with ham), and she said that they do. She also told me that the dish comes with a side of french fries, but I asked if there is something else that I can substitute it with, and she said I had a choice of soups from which I selected the chicken soup. The food was OK, but when I got the bill I noticed that they charged me $3.50 extra for Canadian bacon, which is odd because Emily said Canadian bacon is included in the eggs Benedict. Emily said that she ordered ADDITIONAL Canadian bacon for me, and I told her that’s not what I ordered. I explained that I asked if eggs Benedict came with Canadian bacon, but did not request EXTRA Canadian bacon. Emily took the bill back to Andy, the manager, and he issued a replacement check (pictured below) which was ONLY $0.59 less than the previous bill even though I was charged $3.50 for the extra Canadian bacon. When I called Andy, the manager, to explain the bill and why he had added the side of soup For $2.95 (which I was told was included as a replacement for the fries with the eggs Benedict), Andy told me that Emily is new and that the soup should not have been included as a side so he added it to the second bill. I asked him “why didn’t you include the charge of the soup in the first bill?”, and he did not have an answer. And he then asked me “how many pieces of Canadian bacon did you eat?” I told him that I only ate half of the Canadian bacon because five pieces was just too much, and I was full. Regardless, I was told that Canadian bacon was included with the eggs Benedict, and I didn’t find out that they were going to charge me extra until I received the bill. Andy kept asking “how many pieces of bacon did you eat?”. I was angered when I understood that he was trying to con me. I was polite and courteous with him, but Andy’s sleazy tactics to try to force me to pay for food I did not order and then to try to pull a fast one by charging me extra for the chicken soup that was included as a side to my dish was really what motivated me to write this review to let people know the way the owners are allowing Andy to treat their customers. Andy’s deceitfulness and trickery are a great disservice and embarrassment for the owners of the restaurant for whom he works because Andy’s improper actions will cause the owners to lose a great deal of money from lost business in the tens of thousands of dollars, not to mention irreparable harm to their Restaurant’s reputation. I would have given a one-star review because of Andy’s lack of customer service skills, but the food was good.

I had a great meal at Stargate Diner! The interior is much nicer than you’d expect from the outside — very clean, modern, and comfortable. The staff seemed genuinely happy, and the whole vibe of the place was positive and welcoming. I’ll definitely be returning and recommending it to friends. The only small issue I had was with the way I read the menu. I ordered two eggs with bacon and asked to add corned beef hash. I saw a note on the menu that said “add corned beef hash for $1.99,” so I thought that meant I was simply adding it to the plate for $1.99. But I later realized that $1.99 is the substitution cost — to swap the bacon or sausage for corned beef hash. What I ended up ordering was a full side of corned beef hash at $5.99 in addition to the bacon. That’s completely on me — I misread the menu — but I do think a little more clarity could help avoid confusion. Maybe the wording could be changed slightly, or staff could double-check with customers who order that way. When the bill came, I was surprised by the extra charge, but not enough to make a fuss over it — just something to note for next time. Overall, though, this place is excellent. Don’t let the outside fool you — the inside is fantastic, and the food and service are top-notch. A real hidden gem. Five stars!

Ugh! I'm sad to write this! We loved this restaurant the 1st time we went which was about a year ago or so. I was excited to have a diner close by I actually loved. So we decided to go a 2nd time and bring our oldest with. Everything was so bland and disappointing! When you can't even do an Arnold Palmer right.... 😒 there's issues...... If someone also has an allergy, don't bother asking your waiter or the cook (night shift). Why? Because "he don't know, bro." Ingredients should be listed somewhere or a serious problem could happen and a lawsuit may follow. I get extreme stomach issues with onions... I picked out what I could but that night I had a lot of pain. My alfredo was extremely bland as well. I took it home to fix it. It was a $60 dinner that I wish I spent elsewhere. Will never be going again. I also Doordash in that area. I always wondered why we didn't get too many orders from there... I now know why 💔

VERY RUDE WAIT STAFF. VERY IGNORANT. DEFORMATION OF MY CHARACTER AND MADE FUN OF MY MEDICAL DISABILITY MAKING SMART COMMENTS. I COULD NOT FINISH MY MEAL. I WENT OUTSIDE. I HAD TO GET MY WIFE TO GET TAKE OUT CONTAINER AND I ATE WHEN WE GOT TO A FAMILY MEMBERS HOUSE. I WILL NEVER RETURN AFTER THE WAY I'VE BEEN TREATED. WE USED TO STOP HERE A LOT OF THE TIME WHEN IN TOWN FROM OUT OF STATE AND WE WANTED TO TAKE OUR FAMILY MEMBERS OUT TO EAT. WE WERE TREATED LIKE A PIECE OF TRASH. IT'S A SHAME HOW THE ATTITUDES HAVE CHANGED IN THIS PLACE AND I ALWAYS LEFT A HEFTY TIP BUT NOT THIS TIME. THEY WERE EVEN RUDE TO MY WIFE. I CAN PUT UP WITH A LOT BUT NOT WITH ATTITUDE AND RUDENESS TOWARDS ME AND THEN MY WIFE TOO WHEN SHE TRIED TO EXPLAIN MY MEDICAL PROBLEM. NOW THAT WAS UNCALLED FOR AND NOT EVEN SO MUCH AS AN APOLOGY FOR THE ATTITUDES. THE WAITRESSES EVEN ALLOWED A TABLE OF PEOPLE TO GET INVOLVED IN THE CONVERSATION AND THEY MADE COMMENTS TO MY WIFE ABOUT HOW THEY DIDN'T NEED TO ACCOMMODATE ME AND THAT I COULD STAY HOME AND EAT. I USUALLY DON'T LEAVE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK BUT THIS TAKES THE CAKE. I WALKED OUT HAD MY WIFE PAY THE BILL AND MEET ME IN THE CAR. I WILL BE TRYING TO REACH OUT TO THE OWNER OF THE DINER, MR A. DUGMEOGLU TO DISCUSS THIS ISSUE WITH HIM DIRECTLY TO SEE WHAT HE THINKS ABOUT THE WAY THAT WE WERE TREATED IN HIS ESTABLISHMENT BY HIS STAFF. I'LL POST AN UPDATE IF THIS CONVERSATION TAKES PLACE OF THE OUTCOME AND IF I MIGHT DECIDE TO RETURN AGAIN OR NOT NEXT TIME WE ARE IN THE AREA. I HOPE THAT HE SEES THIS REVIEW AND SPEAKS TO ME AS THE FOOD ISN'T BAD THERE AND SERVICE USED TO BE GOOD AND THAT'S WHY WE KEPT GOING BACK WHEN VISITING FAMILY IN TOWN. REGARDLESS OF THE FOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RESPECT MEANS A LOT TO ME SO UNLESS I GET THAT FROM THE OWNER I WILL NOT EVEN CONSIDER GOING BACK. I'M NOT LOOKING FOR A FREE MEAL OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT, JUST A SINCERE APOLOGY FOR HOW WE WERE TREATED BY THE STAFF. I LOOK FORWARD TO REACHING OUT AND TRYING TO CONTACT HIM SO I CAN SPEAK WITH HIM DIRECTLY ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE EVEN THOUGH IT WILL BE BY PHONE CONTACT "IF POSSIBLE" SINCE WE LIVE OUT OF STATE. HOPEFULLY I'LL BE ABLE TO LEAVE A MESSAGE IF HE'S NOT AVAILABLE SO HE CAN RETURN MY CALL. AGAIN I'LL UPDATE MY POSTING IF THIS CALL SHOULD TAKE PLACE. IT'S ONLY FAIR FOR ME TO UPDATE THIS POSTING IF THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN ADDRESSED BY THE OWNER ONCE HE HAS BEEN MADE AWARE OF IT AND HAS ALL OF THE FACTS. IM SURE HE'S A GOOD BUSINESS MAN AND MORE THAN LIKELY IS CONCERNED ABOUT CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AND MOST OF ALL RESPECT...

I would put 5 stars but my experience was so bad. The host didn't seem happy at all. Got us our drinks and everything and server came over a couple minutes after. We weren't ready to order. Came back maybe 5 minutes after. We waited for our meal and it felt like it took forever. My boyfriend ordered the french onion crock soup. It was just warm like its been sitting under the heat lamps. It was oily and cheese seemed kind of spongy when I tried it. So we got our food. My burger was good and so was the fries. But at that point my glass was empty ( when she came back with our food order) and I was not asked if I wanted another soda nor sid she bring any soda back. My boyfriend had the cheese steak. It was so dry looking and there wasn't mayo on the side which he ordered. She even asked if he wanted it on the side!!! She asked us if everything was ok and didn't even offer to refill the drink's ( 2nd time). Also took her forever to give us the check which was 30 dollars. My boyfriend was almost chocking on the food. Thank God he had some of that ok soup left. I almost ended up that way too because I had nothing to drink. Yet the table on the other side of us ( different waitress) had water, silverware, and napkins. We didn't even get that either! So we went up to pay and the host asked us if everything was good. I told her no that the soup was not hot and my boyfriend said the service was lacking. She just told us that they are short staffed and busy. We had told her that we came at another time and it was way busier and still got better service. I told her If you see an empty cup you ask or automatically bring another filled glass. I ended up giving the girl a dollar tip. It was bad bad service. I usually give 15 to 20 percent. The host looked hard at my reciept when I handed it back to her. Like what do you expect from poor service? All I got was an I'm sorry. If you wanted to keep a customer you should have compensate them something. Like take off the 2.50 for one drink. I'm not asking for a free meal. Just say hey we are sorry. We want to show you something and have you come back. But sadly we won't be...
