Update My family and I went back to Cracker Barrel after being invited by the general manager to hopefully have a better experience. The service was prompt and they had us seated quickly and were very attentive. We had our drinks quickly, our food quickly, and it was hot. We didn't have to look for anything or ask for anything and the manager came out by the end to see how everything went. They were proactive with fixing the previous experience and had a great time. Definitely will go back as usual.

My wife, her parents, and I went to cracker barrel as we routinely do for Sunday dinner to enjoy a good meal but it didn't turn out as planned. We had a small wait to be seated which was not a problem and we were seated for a reasonable amount of time. We sat down and begin to talk and about 5 to 10 minutes in we realized our server has not been to the table we tried to catch someone to ask them but he finally came out. He took our drink orders and we requested to make our food order at the same time, our server Benjamin took our orders but never came back from the back for at least another 15 minutes with our drink order and biscuits. He was spilling water everywhere from his carrying board but no one complained we just asked for plates, jelly, and napkins but once again he disappeared to the back for another extended period of time while our table was wet. He finally returned with napkins but no plates or jelly to eat, which we reminded him and he returned to the back for another 5 minutes. He finally came back with the plates but brought two grape jelly containers for the table, which we asked for a few more to have at least one for each person. Benjamin returned 5 minutes later to another table which we caught him and he gave them to us. We sat and waited and realized all of the servers were active but ours and the one or two other tables he had they also we waiting. We realized we have been waiting for food for about an hour and saw people that came in after us recieve their food or were finishing up to leave. I had to find someone to ask to get our server and after a few more minutes he came with our food. We asked for condiments, a knife, and a refill but he disappeared again. I ended up asking someone else for a knife and finding the condiments on another table. My father-in-law expressed that something was wrong with his meatloaf and his ham which we asked for someone to get our server, which he came out after about five minutes to say he will get the manager. John the manager came out maybe 10 minutes later after we almost finished our food and my father-in-law was waiting. We explained the situation to John which he didn't seem concerned about how long we waited or the service. He also didn't move urgently in reference to the issue with the meal which he mentioned about something else being ordered but by then we were over it and ready to go. We have been frequent customers on Sundays for years and it is often apart of our tradition but this has been the worst experience we have had there and is...

This used to be one of our favorite comfort food places. Our last few visits have been disappointing to say the least. They advertise their campfire meals. Three visits trying to order them, only to have the server came back 15-20 mins later to either say they were out or would take an hour or more to get. August 3rd I tried to contact customer service when they not only didnt have the meal we ordered, but still charged us for it (the campfire meal was more expensive than what we had to get). It's only a chat, and when I requested a person they said I'd hear back in a few hrs. I only received an email with a complimentary card for a two meal visit. No call. We tried visiting again on Aug 9th. Three of us arrived at 2:40. Server was kind but scattered. Drinks needed to be redistributed. Meals did too. Biscuits were brought without butter. I got her attention and requested it. Butter arrived 20 min later, when we were practically done. Ordered two cinnamon bun skillets for dessert. 20 min later the server arrived with smores and the check. Said she'd replace them. 15 mins later I decided to go pay while we waited, as the check did have the proper desserts. As I was paying my husband came out and said the server came to say they were out of cinnamon buns. As I'd already paid, that person said they'd check the back. Several mins later she came back and asked what I'd like instead. I asked for cobbler and bignets. 15 mins later she came out and said they didn't have cobbler. I said just 2 bignets then. (Cinnamon buns were $8.49, bignets are $5.59). At 5.45, we had been there 3 hrs, she handed me a bag with one order of bignets. We just left. I've always been willing to give multiple chances, but I'm sad to say, for this Cracker Barrel anyway, each visit has been worse than the last. I don't think I'll be going back, and I wouldn't be comfortable recommending it to anyone else.

Edit: I have entered your "chat" several times. I will not be doing it again. Shame on you for not having the option to SPEAK...

Updated review: Young lady who helped me today was very sweet and speedy. I wish I had gotten her name.

Updating previous review today 5/16

Had Renee as server. She seemed to be in a rush when she took our order and got the order wrong while taking it down. She talked over me, answered for me, and even read it back wrong. Very frustrating. I had to stop her while she rambled it off and let her know it wasn't right. She got an attitude and said "I know" when she literally said something opposite of what I ordered during ordering. I let it roll cause my son and I were hungry. She seemed like she was in a rush so I didnt want to hold her longer at the table. She speeds by and drops off drinks. I look and already... things are coming out wrong because why? She was rushing. There was lemon in my drink. Im allergic to citrus. I also have outdoor allergies that I'm suffering from already , I can't afford to add my citrus allergy on top of that and have to take a trip to the ER or use an epi pen (they hurt!). She said it was an honest mistake which yes she was right it was. However when you're rushing, not paying attention to your customers and scrambling.... things get messed up. This is one I can't afford to get messed up. We left with out eating or drinking a single thing. Sidenote we go to Cracker barrel all the time which is why this is frustrating. I order the same thing every time which is another reason I was annoyed. I watched her with her other tables and she did the same thing. Talking fast, answering for customers is rude. It doesn't come across as she thinks it does. She told me she was a trainer and some stuff is repetitive for her. OK but I'm a human not a robot or an animal you think for. She made us feel awful and quite possibly could have put me in the hospital. My advice to her is slow down and listen to your customers dont try to think or talk for them. You could...

On 12/30/23 at 644 pm we were seated at table 151. Our server took our drink order fairly quickly. She returned with the drinks and took our food order. Approximately 15 minutes later she returned with two entrees neither of them were ours. Turned out they belonged to the table behind us who were seated before us. We waited another 15 minutes and she returned with two entrees, again neither were ours. They belonged to the table across from us, who were seated after us. By now our drinks were empty, and we had no food. Our server was nowhere in sight. We stopped the host told him the issue and asked to see the manager he called on radio and said the manager was coming. The manager never showed. It was now over 50 minutes since we were seated. Our server showed up again this time she had our entrees. As she put down our food she said the kitchen was messed up. I don't know if the kitchen was messed up because I didn't see that operation to make a comment. I can comment on service and management both were sub par. How can a server not know where the food is going everything is electronic. I knew I was at table 151 it was on the timestamp receipt the host put on table it's not magic. Seems like they always know where to drop the bill. The manager show extremely poor management skills by not coming to the table to at least offer an apology. Perhaps it's time for better customer service training Cracker Barrel. I have to take a minute and update my review. Cracker Barrel did contact me and offer a gift card to have me back to show they can do better. Thanks Cracker Barrel I have posted a lot of reviews with no response. It's nice to see a company that has accountability and pride in their product.

My last three visits were below expectations. The last Server I encountered was Regan. Regan was Polite, attentive and greeted me with a smile which is the absolute fundamental of Service. Regan brought me water instead of Club as I requested, but without a mention from me Regan Identified it and corrected it immediately. The silverware is consistently dirty which is confusing since it's placed inside of a mini-paper silverware sleeve. FYI: If the Silverware is consistently dirty, what does the kitchen look like since the staff is allowing dirty place settings onto the guest table? Another fundamental Staff etiquette, take the dirty silverware off the table ASAP once as a staff member you are made aware. Nothing but food and clean utensils should be on the table. Regan was good overall, but staff as a whole needs improvement. The previous server caused me and the two other people joining me walked out. She arrived at the table with her shoulda down, monotonous and visibly unhappy. I tried to break the ice by saying “Hi. How are you”? She said, “Not good and I'm pregnant.” I congratulated her and she struggled to crack a smile. We started with the drink order, and She walked away with her eyes down as if she was uncomfortable and irritated with something. Again silverware was dirty. There were two parties on opposite sides of our table and every interaction was met with laughter, kind words like “Yes love” and general engagement. She walked past twice without removing the three dirty place sets. We opted to leave after observing the clear inconsistencies and serving.
