Rio Cafe — Restaurant in Rio Grande City

Río café is a consistent restaurant. A nice thing about them is they have a consistent menu. You know what they are serving each day. Thursday’s are Fajitas. Friday is Enchiladas. I’ve taken my staff here several times over the last 6 years. My only disappointment was today when I was calling from my cellphone which is from a different area. Place is so cozy and just nice! We loved the atmosphere! Food was great! They had two choices when we went. They served meatloaf and stuffed chicken. Since we got there almost at 1pm and made a late reservation, they ran out of the cornish hen dish, which I wanted to try, but the meatloaf didn't disappoint. Plates are loaded with big sides of vegetables and salad and a big baked potato loaded with goodness. Price is just right at about $14 per plate. I will definitely go back soon! Today I had the most amazing plate of Carne Guisada EVER!! I loved it and the quanitity served was reasonable and the temperature of the plate was HOT! I loved the bread it was fresh and soft. Suggestion would be place bread in a small plastic bag, one of the breads was soaked in the carne guisada gravy. It was delicious because I didn't have to dip it...
