The food was very good: tasty with large portions. Our foursome had the Chicken Penne special, Asian Salad, Grilled Chicken Salad, Fish and Chips with the Baked Asparagus as an appetizer and excellent Cheese Cake for dessert. The waitress was friendly, very efficient and yet unobtrusive; such great service enhanced our evening. Surprisingly the restaurant area was busy but quiet. We were not disturbed by the many patrons seated at the adjacent long bar. We enjoyed our visit. This place is known for it's big game trophy heads covering most of the walls: there might be over 100 including an elephant with it's trunk and tusks looming over the center tables in the restaurant area. It is the largest of the displays. The giraffe is the tallest. Plus there numerous different kinds of horned deer, elks, moose, sheep, oxen, bison and water buffalo to name a few. There are many more exotic and now possibly extinct animal heads. Only very few are the complete animal. This is not necessarily a place to take an animal lover. However, it was possible to ignore the decor, eat and enjoy our evening, even after our puriant curiosity in the severed heads and our failed attempts to identify more...
Read moreWe just left from our dining experience here. This is more of a 3.5 than a 4 star review. I will say customer service was great. Our waitress went above and beyond and I could hear her chatting with other guests and making sure they were taken care of. She did a great job. The food was good but highly overpriced. The prices on Google do not reflect their current prices as of posting this. For example, currently Google states their Ceasar salad is $9 when it is $12.75 in reality. For an Asian Chicken Salad, it was nearly $16 plus the chicken sandwich that was about $15. The sheer amount of taxidermy on the walls was a nightmare. I knew there was SOME but that was so much more than SOME taxidermy. The fact that there were elephant tusks on the wall bothered me the most knowing how illegal the ivory trade is. Some things just can't be overlooked. Finally. The experience of walking in and walking out was eerie. No fault to the employees, obviously, but the entire restaurant stared at us as we walked through. It made both of us extremely uncomfortable. It was horror movie-esque. There was clearly a demographic here that I very obviously don't fit into. I wouldn't go...
Read moreLet me start by prefacing that if you do not like hunting or taxidermied animals, do not go here. Now that you are still reading and entertained by the notion of this place, I want to say it was incredible. To see so many of those animals up close and personal was an experience. On to the food. We ordered a ribeye and the Wague,Buffalo, Elk,WildBoar cheddar cheeseburger. I have to admit that the food was rather boring compared to the place. I ordered the hamburger because it was one of the only items that had other game meat in it. Having never had that combination, I still can't tell you how I felt about it. It wasn't bad. It was a different and unique taste. As for the steak, there was nothing special about it. My husband asked for steak sauce because it was kinda bland. I would love to see this place shake it up with some wild game options for the menu full of amazing flavors. Make the food as worthy as the place you're visiting. People would come from afar for a great chef and a unique place. Lastly, when you show up, it looks like the place is closed up. It's not. Walk through those doors into...
