My family loves going to the Air Force Museum but this part just reeks of a bad contract. You can't take outside food/drinks into the museum. While I am wholeheartedly in support of contributing to this free museum in any way I can, the cafe was way overpriced for terrible food options. The quote "Torpedo Dog" quote was just an oversized, plain hot dog that was $6.50. Prepackaged muffins (like at a gas station, not baked onsite which i can see paying more for) were $4.50 and $4.25. Chips are $2.00. They did have some cold turkey wraps and sandwiches in the refrigerator that I did not see until I had ordered the hot dogs. Regardless, the cafe missed the mark in my opinion. I recommend skipping this Cafe and try the Refueling Cafe that is near the space area. Or eating before you get...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt's not the fun and friendly place that you would hope it to be. They aren't excited to see you. There's not a lot of interesting things to look at. The country music plays over the museum announcements, or visa-versa, depending on what you want to hear. You can't get condiments. When I was there, areas were blocked off. When I asked the cashier if I could sit down, she explained that I could sit in the "lower level." In order to get there, I had to either duck under one of the barriers or walk back through the line where I was rung out, like a little labyrinth challenge. I didn't love paying $5.45 for a bottle of iced tea. The sandwich, without condiments, wasn't bad and the french-fries, without...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt was embarrassingly bad. One poor guy to serve dozens of people in line and check people out. Long wait for pizza, looked awful anyway. Coffee and tea was the only warm drink, the place was 55 to 60 degrees inside so need something hot. People wait for 30 minutes for not even mediocre food. Out of buns out of cups, cold macaroni.
Really does not do justice for the museum facility. I'm not sure if cafe workers are paid or volunteered but the poor guy was doing the best he could with what...
