You are almost near the end of a long day, but there are a couple more stops. Second to last will be the Space Gallery. You can get a larger overview from the eatery on the second floor.
Anything related to space or exploration will be here. One of the main items in this display is the Space Shuttle Simulator. You can find this right in front of the Space Shuttle trainer.
The other stunning displays are of the different space missions in the early days of space flight. You find the Astronaut suit used for the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo missions. They even have a display of the cradle the chimpanzees were in during their flights.
There are also several models of the different rockets and space craft we used. There are some of the rocket and the engines exposed so you can see them in detail. A satellite is also on display which shows just how larger they are floating above earth (Sorry, no space lasers were found). They have a small display showcasing the United States Space Force.

The space suit they could go inside of and take their picture in was a sweet touch. My youngest is 5 and the only thing she's wanted to be since she realized what the question "what do you want to be when you grow up?" meant, is an astronaut. Thank you for providing excellent education for adults and making the museum a blast for my little ones. A staff member helped get us from the very back by the space exhibit to the front with a nifty flashlight! (Thank you so much for helping me out with thw babes. What excellent staff!
Read moreToday took Grand Babies to the National Museum of the Air Force in Dayton, Ohio. The Museum is free to enjoy. It is so freaking massive and chucked full of 100s and 100s of planes, helicopters, rockets, missiles, jets and even BOMBS!!!
This Museum is absolutely 💯 Percent fantastic!! I've been twice and would go again and again!
