Having just moved to the south, I've been blown away at how friendly every person I've met is. The people working here unfortunately, were not. The young man who greeted me at the door was friendly and had a smile, but the two woman who served me both were quite rude, always scowling, and had a real attitude of almost disdain. None of them spoke loud enough that I could even hear what they were asking me. I asked for a beer and was simply told 'no', I was not told 'we don't have any' or 'we don't sell alcohol' I was simply just told "no" as an answer to when I asked what beer they had. I later checked the online menu to see what other drinks they had, well turns out the online menu says beer and margaritas, I thought perhaps they ran out of beer, so later on I asked the sever if I could get a margarita and she gave me the exact same answer rude answer as the other sever, of just saying 'no' and when I asked 'oh your menu said you had drinks' she just repeated 'no' with a scowl. Food was actually good, and having moved to the area I really wanted to find some local spots to eat at regularly, but after the terrible experience that was I will never return unfortunately. I'm not sure if it was family run, but family run places can sometimes have attitudes between family members get carried over to the customer. All I can say is, if this is their typical service and how they treat customers, it's not going to do them any good in the long run. I hope they actually read these reviews, and try to make change. In tough times like this, I will still recommend anyone looking to try this place to go, but pay attention to if they've changed or improved at all, and if not, leave a review like this so others can see that they're not trying to improve. I seriously packed the rest of my food and left as soon as I could because I just felt so unwelcome, I've never had an experience like that in any...
Read moreFood is pretty good. Their service was slow and not very decent when it came to paying. I ordered a special off the menu, the Mexican Taco Plate - selecting 3 different tacos from the selection noted on the menu for that plate, it came with beans I also requested a side of rice. Waited a good bit for the food.... Ate some, boxed the rest to take home. They brought the bill and charged me a la carte for each item separately which was $5+tx more than the Mexican Taco Plate noted on the menu. I showed it to the mgr, he's said it was because I ordered three different tacos and was supposed to order only one kind, even though the menu doesn't say order only one kind of taco. I said that was wrong and he said, "Now you know." and still overcharged me regardless. So wrong. Also, there were four of us and we asked in advance of ordering for 3 separate checks. Yeah.... dumped it all on a single check. Lesson is, if you eat there make sure the waiter understands exactly what you are ordering. It didn't used to be that way, they were prompt, polite, and honorable. It's changed now. Making Mexican food at home...
Read moreDo not sleep on this place; it’s SO GOOD! I never would have thought to find such incredible food in such an unlikely location. My choripollo was fantastic, but the real star of the show was my husband’s order. His pollo loco had a complex set of flavors with the bite of the onions, the umami of the pillow-soft mushrooms, and a silky herbed cream sauce… all on top of a piece of tender, juicy, flat-grilled chicken with the perfect amount of char. Instead of the tired refried beans that are usually slipped into your plate, the cook has make an absolutely fabulous charro bean soup. Even the rice has been carefully seasoned and steamed to a fluffy perfection. The food came out fast and hot and exactly what we ordered. Our server was a great communicator and super professional, yet friendly.
The prices are very reasonable, but times are tight, so it’s good to know that you can get a pretty solid discount if you go for lunch instead of dinner. The patio is legit, too; there are chairs with armrests and umbrellas. We will definitely be back the next time we...
