Mac & Jerry's Diner — Restaurant in Robertsdale

I was quite disappointed in my experience. Staff was friendly enough, but the food was very underwhelming. My husband and I went in expecting a "home cooked meal" and even read on the menu to be patient with them while our food was prepared with TLC. Unless TLC is an acronym meaning "Taking Little Care", I don't understand it. The food was bland, and tasted like what you would get in a Swanson microwave dinner. The BBQ sandwich was obviously out of a premade pack of BBQ that you get in the meat section of Walmart, and microwaved as the outside was cold while the inside was warm. No one even checked that. The rice was mushy and had no flavor like what you would get at a cafeteria, and the veal was clearly one of the frozen ones you get out of the freezer section of the grocery store. The rolls were also clearly a pack of rolls from the grocery store. With the exception of the corn nuggets and the French fries, I could have made this entire meal in my microwave at home. I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 because at least they did not charge high prices for their "home...

Bland food: potato cubes ("hash browns") and pancake had zero flavor until I added ketchup and syrup, accordingly. Server was quite friendly and kept my iced tea glass filled until meal arrived... then no check-in until I stood to pay. 3 of the bacon slices were waaaaay undercooked. Scary. Server saw where I'd placed them aside on a napkin yet made no comment. Scrambled eggs were exactly as I ordered, "Cooked well done, please". They were perfect. After reading the reviews I decided to try Mac and Jerry I was disappointed…. Got eggs over easy , ham , hash browns and biscuits with gravy The biscuit and gravy came out quickly but was made with a mix, not a true white sauce. Opaque in color and tasteless. Biscuits were bland. 10 minutes later my wife received her French toast …. Very average or below. 5 minutes later I received my eggs ham and hash browns.
