Good food and friendly folks! I didn't know what to expect, going into what used to be an old cinder block VFW hall, but it was quite a pleasant surprise. I had a ribeye that was super tender and flavorful, and scallops that were fairly tender and sweet. The mac and cheese was just OK, though; it wasn't cheesy enough for my southern taste buds. Green beans were well seasoned with bacon and had a little spice to them, which was surprising.
Another diner had the whole stuffed flounder and gave it two thumbs up. The skin was crispy and had a great seasoning on it, too. I like that they give a basket of hush puppes (with cheese dipping sauce) with the meal. They were pretty good but a little over cooked. We also had the loaded fries appetizer. I didn't really like them, but another diner wolfed them down. It's just crinkle cut fries with nacho cheese sauce and bacon. Not bad, but not "loaded" by my definition.
I got a nibble of another diner's hamburger steak and thought it was some of the best I've had around here. Tender ground beef and a mushroom gravy that was not too salty. She also had a baked potato and it was huge, and salted on the outside which is the way I love my taters.
Soft drinks are in cans — no refills — but sweet & unsweet tea do get refills, and the sweet tea was good strong southern sweet tea, so I was happy.
Overall, a pretty good experience. It's on the expensive side, but I think the quality of the food makes...
Read moreWife and I had lunch here because we were in Robertsdale AND this place was recommended by three friends that we respect their food opinion. One was a retired major shrimper processor owner/operator and the other two are local business owners. Wife had jumbo fried shrimp with a baked potato, Cole slaw, and two hush puppies for $12.00. More the she could eat. I had the fried flounder with green beans, Cole slaw, and two hush puppies for $12.00, and it was all I could do to eat it all.
We have lived here in South Baldwin county since 1992 and have ate at most of the restaurants between Pensacola and Mobile. The quality of the food was outstanding. Hot good hot and cold food cold, as it should be. I can honestly say the shrimp could not be any better and was PERFECTLY fried, and a high quality product. The flounder was perfect as the shrimp. Lightly battered and seasoned and perfectly fried. Two nice sized fillets. The restaurants health ratings are 99 out of 100. As a retired Baldwin County restaurant owner/operator, a 99 rating in Baldwin County is a high rating. Judging from the public area of the restaurant, the kitchen rating could very well have been 100. The Warehouse Restaurant is lunch only and only open weekdays, 10:30 to 3:00. I believe if you enjoy good quality seafood, you will not be disappointed...
Read moreLet me tell you about this place! We ended up here after another restaurant we were going to was closed for no staff. The atmosphere and staff were immediately welcoming. Our waitress Kelley was awesome. She always had our drinks full and at no point were left needing anything. Now let's talk about the food. Everything was great. We were a table of 6 so we ordered 3 appetizers. The breaded mushrooms, the fried pickels and mozzarella sticks. Honestly at that point we really didn't "need" any more food. The portions were very generous and the food was very fresh. The entrees did not dissapoint either. Again generous portions and fresh hot food. We had the: all you can eat shrimp, the steak medallions, chicken fingers, the deep fried steak and a shrimp dinner. The deep fried steak was a hit! We will definitely make the trip from Pensacola to eat here again. As a bonus there is a really nice park with a walking trail a short distance from the restaurant if you want to get some fresh air after a...
