The Dam Landing — Restaurant in Rochester

Disappointed! Searched a lot of reviews to decide where to eat on the way back from a regional ball game. Decided on this due to its rating and menu. So disappointed!

Service: while it was a Sat nite, it wasn’t full. Our waitress never once filled our water or drinks. She didn’t clear any dishes. When she didn’t return with my to go box, I went to get my own. She was sitting down on her phone by the hostess stand! She also didn’t seem to have a grasp of the menu. She was really young so maybe she hasn’t worked there long - or maybe she needed to check her tik tok and didn’t have time for us?

Food: the Brussel sprouts were good and I’d recommend them. Most of the food wasn’t hot. We did send back the ribs but it took a long time to return them and then without any sauce. They only give you a tiny cup of sauce for a large portion of ribs! By then, it was getting late and we needed to be driving, hence the to go box. The burger was average. The tenderloin was hard and difficult to chew. We don’t recommend the fried pickles - greasy with little flavor.

Atmosphere: it did have a cool vibe and I’m sure it’s better in the summer.

Sunday afternoon, getting really hungry for a burger but not home yet. So I pulled up my trusty Yelp app to see what we could find that was close and not super expensive. Did a quick crossover check with Google reviews to compare results. You all came through for me! From the looks, forgive me but I started questioning your reviews. But from the moment we were greeted until we walked out, my trust was restored. The burgers were hand-pattied from fresh local meat source with great flavor and additions. We tried both the mushroom and the bacon burgers. The draft beer list was long and varied and holds something for every taste. The wait staff always is a huge factor for us. It can take an average meal and push it to 5* or drop it to 1*. In this case, nothing but ^UP^! The owner greeted us, Jen hosted us to the table and was our server, and other staff smiled and greeted us during our visit as well. The Dam Landing has good food and a fun laid back feel right on the lake. On this Tuesday Trey cooked up some delicious wings. Fabulous bone in wings 75 cents each. What a pleasure it is to enjoy something so good for such a bargain. Sam our waitress said they were good, and she was right. On a different day I had one of the taco Tuesday $2.50 specials and it was very good with lots of flavor. This place changes menu specials and is open in the winter time. But the Dam Landing continues to be good to the customers by providing a great bar with a beautiful view with friendly staff and a restaurant that continues to surprised me. Hey...
