We have been coming to this restaurant for several years for special birthday event and have never had a bad experience. Sadly, Monday May 9,2022 we brought 1 of our adult kids here for their 1st time as a birthday treat. We had hyped it up about how entertaining the chief was, flipping meat to table dinners, the dance they do with the egg, all the fancy knife, spatula work that goes along with the whole hibachi show. My son wants to be a chief & was excited to see hibachi masters to their work❣️ We were only three at the table & one other table was occupied as well with four ppl, plus 4 ppl at the bar. Nice & quite Hostess/waitress was sweet & proficient. We order 1 cocktails. She asked if we wanted soup or salad, every other time we were offered both. Oh well. For appetizers we order Taco Nacho Plater, & Chefs Sushi Roll. Main Hibachi order was: Lovers plater w/all the available meats lobster, scallops, steak& shrimp.Son’s ordered sword fish. We received only 1 lobster. We received our drinks & small simple salad that didn’t taste like the salads that were unique tasting from our previous visit.Oh well, it still tasted good. Then we were brought the large Platter of nachos! & served with Chefs Sushi roll that was spectacular ! Hibachis cook soon came out & we waited for the cooking show to being. He proceeds to sauté /grill our meal. The only entertainment from the chef was throwing the flame on the grill. He was proficient & quick. We pretended this was fun, for the sake of our sons 1st Hibachis sake.wWe waited for the chief to perform fancy knife throwing skills, eggs & food tossing. It was just a legit food grill then placed on each plate. He did give us all a taste of saki from a bowl. Then dinner was over Our hostess did come over & try to throw away our large left over appetizers. My husband stopped her & asked for food containers, so she put the plates down & brought boxes, we ask for more for our main dishes. They serve a lot❣️ Once our son was home. My husband & I got home I expressed my sadness our son didn’t see an actual entertaining Hibachi chef per our pass experiences. We began discussing how much different this experience was from the many other times there ! Then as all spouses do they looked over the Bill $250. We than began to describe our TRUE experience at Zin Fusion tonight: Lack Luster Hibachi’s performance & other horrendous things we experienced. The bathrooms😳 Before receiving our our salad we excused our selfs to the bathroom.I asked my husband how his bathroom looks he said fine, I said … yea mine too🫣. However, once we started to be honest about the experience, the truth bombs 💣 landed! In the ladies room, 1out of 4 toilets was occupied. All others were filthy & weren’t flushed. So I used the handicap toilet, I’m 5.1 no way was I going to be able to hover over this filthy thrown. So, I had no choice but to sit down without making more of a mess.I stuck to that toilet seat like fly paper, isshhhh!( it’s MN we really say this) & I had to do # 2. Why not I wasn’t going anywhere fast. After pulling my sticky thighs from the seat, knowing the other occupants was gone I came out with panties down, used hot water & soap to wash my thighs & bumm( farmers Bidet?)Then.. My filthy toilet wouldn’t flush & noticed my prior occupants couldn’t either 😤😤😤😤So humiliating. Husband had similar experience in his bathroom. After finding a flushable half decently clean urinal he finish & wanted to do a number 2 as well. He faired no better than me because none of toilets flushed flushed or were clean & the one that was flushed had past occupants BS blow all over toilet, so he passed doing a #2. We’ve seen better bathrooms on interstate gas station, Walmart& Targets. Needs less to say, this place will no longer be a special place to bring family or friends. It’s would be too...
Read moreI was dining at hibachi with a friend on may 17th. We ordered the lovers dinner. We picked the filet mignon, lobster, and the scallops. This visit was not as pleasant as the previous time we went. They asked us if we wanted soup or salad. Last time it came with both. They we also wanted half rice and half noodles but weren't given the option and they assumed that we both want rice. As the cook was cooking the food we noticed that he only gave us one small lobster tail to share between the two of us, originally they gave us one each. I questioned the cook if we were suppose to have two tails and was informed no, we only get one to share. It wasn't until we were almost done eating that they realize we were actually supposed to get two so they brought out the other one. In the middle of half way eating our food one of the server came and asked if we wanted a to go container. At this point we felt we were being rushed to finish our food. There was only one other hibachi grill going on at the time so they were not busy. On top of that not even 5 mins later we were asked if we wanted the check and told us that gratuity was already added. We didn't know they could do that with just us two eating bottom mention we tipped the cook 10$ right after he cooked the food for us. So now for 115$ check we tipped 30$. It's not that big of a deal but I wished we knew before to find out that the cook and the server spilt the tips. Over all the experience there this time around was awful..! The food was not the best tasting. I've been to this restaurant before and had no issues. Now it's just a bad experience I more then likey will not being going there again. For the price that we paid and got less food and the service was not up to par. They had way too many people coming up to our table making it confusing as to who our server actually was. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone anymore unless I like the feeling of being pushed out of there half way through your meal. Just not satisfied. Hopefully they will do better for others...
Read moreAte supper here tonight and had one of our worst dining experiences ever, which is super unfortunate. We always used to
We did not sit at a Hibachi grill, just for clarification.
For starters, the hostess seemed to either be intoxicated or well on her way. tripping over chairs, mumbling, and a clear attitude issue. 3 of the 4 guests at our table ordered hibachi off the menu, while I ordered sushi. (Note: this is not the first time we have had the feeling that someone in charge had been drinking on the clock.)
The 3 hibachi meals came out at an acceptable time( 10 ish minutes), however we waited nearly 25 extra minutes for 2 simple sushi rolls to be brought to the table. Only after questioning the waitress, was I able to visually watch my order get resubmitted to the sushi chef.
The food was nothing to be proud of, which is not usually the case at this restaraunt in the other multiple visits we have made. We have always been happy with the food, until tonight.
After asking for some compensation or a discount to help offset the issues we had, the hostess, was so nice as to offer us a $4 discount...............
After describing our situation to her, not only did she come off with a rude attitude as to describe that the issue was how busy the restaraunt was (3 tables filled in the area we were sitting in...), and how they only have 1 sushi chef, and how normally this isnt how things work. (never admitting to the fact that she had forgotten to submit the order in the first place.)
I will NEVER step foot in this restaraunt again, and I urge anyone who is considering doing so, to read some more reviews, as apparently I am not the only one with a poor experience thats been documented here.
Sadly, I dont know who the lady was or what part of the leadership team she is part of, but the only thing she did a great job of tonight, was turning away future customers.
Thankfully Rochester has other options!
If the owner sees this and would like to chat, I would love to discuss...
