While they have a lot of great bed options- there are a lot of things I dislike about the overall concept of sleep number. They will charge you for every little thing. Deliver $250, remove old mattress $60, each remote $50 /$100 pair, mattress pad $250 đł, then there is the bed. Want the adjustable head- $1,000 extra. Want adjustable feet, $1,000 more. Wanted heated feet, $1,000 more. Itâs unreal.
The basic bed is your best deal. Not the comfort bed with heat/cooling but the more basic bed 2-7. We wanted the 5. You will still have to pay for Frame, remotes, mattress pad, bed, delivery etcâŠ..and another $250 if for some reason itâs not what you want. Oh, but the frame canât be returned, or the mattress pad. They have lots of fine print to read! But technically can try the bed for up to 30 days.
I worry about the privacy. With all the information they are collecting each night, it seems like a big violation of my privacy. I read one customer tried to turn off some of the functions and the bed wouldnât work after that. The warranty is only for the first year too, where similar beds give 10 years or more. Itâs prorated after the first year. đ«€
The positives is that they are comfortable beds to lay on. My sleep number was super close to my husbands. So it didnât make sense for us to get one in the end, but if one person likes a firm bed and the other a soft bed, this could be the best option for you.
The staff was helpful in the store and knowledgeable about their product. I did find a lot of double talk, which didnât set well with me. Example. I was told how it can detect your heart rate, if you hit REM sleep, how long you sleep each night, how much you move, if you snore(so it listens) and how long snoring lasts, even your temperature. it was a long list. The Sleep Number Company doesnât sell that informationâŠ..right? đâŠ. So when I spoke about privacy concerns later, Iâm told it only collects your height, weight & birthdate. But you were just showing me all the date it collects about my sleep? Which is it? In the end, we felt lied to and we walked. Itâs likely an okay bed, as long as you donât have mechanical issues and your donât care if your information is shared. Price for the base bed is comparable to other beds. They just charge you for every additional items. Even a remote that you expect comes with an adjustable bed- now...
Read moreBuy the over 8k bed was easy and great customer service in person and over the phone. The aftermath of having the bed was very unpleasant. You would think having a bed for over 3 years it would last but nope, we have techs come out over 3 occasions . Long story short we are finally getting rid of the bed and we called sleep number in Rochester Mn to request how the disposal of the bed works. Thy were nothing of help and matter of fact said we do not do that once you buy the bed itâs the customer job to dispose of the bed if you donât want it. When I said that doesnât seem right at all a man in the background with an attitude said just give her customer service number. Once I called customer service the hold time was over 45 minutes all for the guy that I can barely hear bc of the loud background said they actually do dispose for 80 dollars. Sleep number beds are nothing but a over price...
Read moreYes, 3 stars, but not why you would think... Beds are great... long term, not so much. We have had our bed for about 18 years. The Sleep Number beds are great while they work. Like all products they are being continuously modified and improved. Customer service is great and very accommodating. We had a few minor issues initially, boom, no problem, fixed. At 8 years the remote that rarely gets touched mysteriously died. We got a different remote than original that mostly worked. Then at 18 years the pump died. The whole pump system has changed and we've been without it for 3 months so far. They are very friendly but I think behind the scene they are trying to find a refurbished pump to replace it. Only time will tell. I suppose this is an issue with anything technical that has a long warranty. Like I said, great bed, just be aware as the life gets longer, repairs may be...
