Pizza Palace — Restaurant in Rockingham

About 4 years ago, I gave this restaurant a five star review. That was when it was under the previous owner and management. Now I rescind my five stars. I said that I would never eat here again. I figured that it was different since the business changed hands. Boy, was I wrong. It has gotten worse!!!!

My "wife" and I decided to eat there. We walked over. Went in and OMG, it was way too loud, especially this one woman that works there. They changed certain things that shouldn't have been change. The atmosphere, was so impersonal, they covered up, not all of it, a painting that was done by students, of the previous owners with a stupid flipping plant. Moved the booths, and took out the video games. And that's just for the atmosphere. While we were placing our order, there was another couple there. They were talking to a woman behind the counter. Now, I don't know if she was the new owner or just an employee, but she was telling the gentleman, that if their order wasn't their liking, that they would remake it, obviously. My "wife" heard the gentleman say, "Yeah, that will never happen".

Now on to the food, if that's what you want to call it. We ordered the following items:

Mozzarella Sticks: $8.00

Grilled chicken grinder w/lettuce, American cheese, and mayo: $12.00

Bacon Cheeseburger Platter w/pickle, tomato, onion, and American cheese: $13.00

When we opened up the box of mozzarella stick, we were disappointed. They were not what we were expecting. A friend of ours and her husband went there ordered mozzarella stick and they were twice the size of these. The "marinara sauce", was just thrown in the box, to where it leaked out of the container that it was in. And let's face it, it wasn't marinara sauce. I looked at my "wife" and said, "Honey on your back in here, can you grabbed the spaghetti sauce out of the cupboard." As that's what this, in the picture. That and it tasted burnt.

Now on to the grinder.

If this is what you consider to be a grilled chicken grinder, you're insane. First off, who in their right mind uses chunk chicken in a grinder, in the first place? No one I know. You are supposed to use grilled chicken strips. Second, it looks like there is cheese sauce on here, which in fact, it isn't, that is American cheese, doused in mayo. Third, that's what counts for lettuce, I guess. It was so bad. My "wife", couldn't eat only but a few pieces of the chicken, and the rest she begged me to throw away, because if not she was going to puke.

Now for my food. The only thing I have to say about mine is that, if I am going to order a burger or any other sandwich and I ask for onions on it, when I look at it, there better be more onions on it, then there was on these ones. Only one picture of the burgers, below, as they were both like this one. The only thing that my "wife" could eat out of all of this food, was a few pieces of her chicken and my fries. So for us paying $33 dollars for our food, and getting what we did. There is no way we should have been charged that.

No one should be subjected to this kind of food, especially if it is going to be this expensive. This was a tragedy. I wouldn't recommend rats to eat here, and that's sad. I WON'T BE EATING HERE AGAIN, EVER!!!!

This business recently changed hands and I was hoping that the good parts of it would not have changed although I am aware that there had been lots of changes including a menu expansion. Unfortunately, it is not the same as I remember it from before. I used to get the cheeseburger plate with two burgers that comes with a side of fries all the time when I lived in Bellows Falls years ago. I remember those burgers being hand-pressed patties and I wanted to find out if I could expect the same quality before deciding to order them again so I asked the employee working at the counter taking my order if the burgers were still hand-pressed like they used to be. The employee, being new, said that he did not know but that he could go in the kitchen and ask. He then proceeded to go back into the kitchen where presumably he asked if the burgers were hand-pressed. When he returned he told me that they are hand-pressed. The burgers that I received were flat puck patties that are clearly not hand-pressed. They are the quality you would expect of an elementary school lunch or perhaps a low-end fast food chain, not the good quality hand-pressed patties that I was expecting and that I was told I would get. In addition to the patties not being as described, the burgers also did not come out with the things that I asked for them to have on them on them. I asked for cheese, mustard, pickle, and lettuce. Burgers came out with no pickles. I had to go and ask for a cup of pickles at which point they gave me three pickles for two burgers. THREE MEASLY PICKLES. Loved it... Was skeptical judging from the outside of the building, upon walking in began our pleasant experience. Soon as we walked in we noticed the murals on the walls and the smell of pizza. They have a nice menu selection to choose from here.

It's a nice joint to check out if you want pizza, sub's , french fries.

Being our first time here we found one of our favorites on their menu the "Philly cheese steak" grinder's and sweet potato fries.

The wait time normal. The food served perfect. The taste of the food delicious. The customer service good.

Towards the back you can find a small Arcade section for the kids to enjoy.

Desert's...try their baklava it's delicious.

The Neat wall paintings filling the room make the place feel fun.

We would love to come back again and try one of their pizzas 😁
